this is a message from the city and county of san francisco to learn about san francisco's efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, go to www.sf climate.org. as you can see, that is a very long message, so, we have a lot of work to do to reduce that down. but the content of this message has the language that would be found to make it legally viable. this is a pretty startling fact, though, about what one gallon of greenhouse gas produces, that one gallon of gas produces, it produces 20 pounds of carbon dioxide. a single pound of carbon dioxide would fill a 2-1/2 foot diameter balloon. but if we want to make it into more san francisco terms, we could say that a single pound of carbon dioxide would fill a 2-1/2 foot diameter yoga ball. imagine your car emitting 20 yoga balls of carbon dioxide for every gallon of gas, 20 yoga balls. that's a lot of yoga balls and that's a big volume of gas that's being put out by one gallon of gas. imagine all the gallons of gas that are burned in san francisco and you can see our sky filled with yoga balls. filling your car with 10 gallons of gas equ

cecilia was a 15-year resident of san francisco and an asian american studies at san francisco state university ~. she dreamed about continuing her social justice education at berkeley and eventually becoming a civil rights attorney. she was a compassionate and courageous advocate who held the values of a quality and antiviolence close to her heart and translated her values into action by joining the movement for gay rights, marriage equality, and volunteering at local women's shelters in the city and advocating for increased prevention and awareness around domestic violence. her family and friends describe her as an angel on earth with the biggest heart you could ever imagine. she was the type of person who would defend the defenseless fighting justice head on and giving to people less fortunate than herself. her final wish was to be an organ donor, and even in death she wanted to give all that she could to others in need. it is a tragedy that we lost this young woman to domestic violence. to cecilia's family and friends and on behalf of the board of supervisors, i want to extend ou

did not live in san francisco. it is a requirement at lowell that you live in san francisco in order to go to one of our most highly sought after schools. this school district conducted very expensive investigations where we knocked on family's doors at 6:00 in the morning and even followed kids home to see if they truly lived in san francisco. that is incredibly expensive and very difficult to do. and if we pass a legislation as we do today, which is to say only 90 unhosted days will open the planning department to do that kind of work on our residents in san francisco. and i would much prefer that our planning department did not have to engage in that type of investigation. and i imagine many of the people in this room would not want to be investigated in a level that is that invasive. so, i will make one final argument as to why i think a 90-day hosted and nonhosted is incredibly important in order for the city to enforce this and that's second, if you want to do it for more than 90 days, that there is an opport

, and we shared being big fans of san francisco giants and the san francisco 49ers and she was actually, a very avid fan of both. mary was found dead in her home on august 26th and the cause of death is blunt force trauma. and according to her neighbors, her boyfriend of 12 years, who she lived with, she would hear her boyfriend slamming her against the walls during arguments. mary did not confide in this and although i loved her i never knew that this was happening a group of us attend every court hearing, for joules, and he has been accused of homicide, one of our friends has said that following this process and the judicial process is the most painful thing that she will ever do in her life. i am a human rights lawyer, and usually this kind of thing is a professional thing for me and not a personal thing, and i have been living in porter prince and i work for an organization that represents the victims of violence and we help to prosecute cases just like this case. and unfortunately there, the judiciary and the law enforcements don't have the political will to pursue cases like this.

if san francisco you understand administrative fees are being waived. in (inaudible) there are no fee waivers. in concord they also waive the administrative fees but they do that for all people who are towed, not just the residents of concord. in kansas city the tow fee is discounted 50 percent and there's a 4 day great period for the storage. in indian nap police nothing is waived. in baltimore county, likewise nothing is waived and the same is true for the pennsylvania state police where we are conducting a pilot. there are incidents in all of these jurisdictions where there will be extenuating circumstances where the police department might choose to waive more of the fees just due to the circumstances so that's what we see from the other jurisdictions and then we also hear from all of our police department clients that they also are very mindful of the fact that many of the individuals, there is insurance coverage in place so they tend to try to incorporate that into whatever policy they put into place as well. >> i mentioned this at the beginning o

the heat not limited to san francisco. early we have temperatures soaring into the 90s around places like alamo, san ra more, livermore. these locations, tri-valley, will see some of the hottest temperatures. alameda 86. we've had sunshine, no low clouds or high clouds, very dry conditions. thank goodness the winds are not too strong, otherwise we'd have red flag warnings. the direction of the winds important, still offshore for now. that pattern will begin to reverse as we go into the weekend. in the meantime, heat advisory will continue through 9:00 this evening and then start again tomorrow from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. for our inland locations away from the coast and the inner bay. we're going to begin to see changes here. hot temperatures for tomorrow. but coastal cooling as we wait for the return of low clouds during the day tomorrow. this is very important to re-establish the marine layer which will start to develop during the day tomorrow. patches of low clouds returning hinting at cooler changes that should begin to
