we are a family business that started in san francisco chinatown by my parents who started the businessame footsteps of my parents. we source the teas by the harvest season and style of crafting and the specific variety. we specialize in premium tea. today i still visit many of the farms we work with multigenerational farms that produce premium teas with its own natural flavors. it is very much like grapes for wine. what we do is more specialized, but it is more natural. growing up in san francisco i used to come and help my parents after school whether in middle school or high school and throughout college. i went to san francisco state university. i did stay home and i helped my parents work throughout the summers to learn what it is that makes our community so special. after graduating i worked for an investment bank in hong kong for a few years before returning when my dad said he was retiring. he passed away a few years ago. after taking over the business we made this a little more accessible for visitors as well as residents of san francisco to visit. many of our teas were traditi

i'm an architect and i have been in san francisco chinatown almost 30 years. i want to speak on the ref -- revocation for the permit of the bridge and send it back to committee so more and meaningful dialogue can take place between all stakeholders. back when the project was developed 50 years ago, the city insisted to include a bridge from the hotel and the cultural center to chinatown. you may or may not like the design of the bridge but there was a genuine public and private partnership of the building. something the city wanted at the time. today, it appears the recreation and parks does not want to pay for the demolition of the city and instead shift the cost to the hotel developer. this means the city is going to ignore the 50-year public-private agreement and change the rules of the game. perhaps the giants and warriors should start worrying about their stadium and arenas because any deal with the city now can easily be changed by ignoring prior agreements. i'd like to remind everyone the cost for all the work is approved by voters in the 2020 propositi

[♪] >> chinatowntleground is something i have always wanted to do because we have never had the chinese americans in the military. our history goes back all the way to 1861 to afghanistan. the exhibition is two-parts. one is a visual history which is told through the banners. then basically what i wanted to do was make sure that people understood that every one of these objects tell a story. for example my uncle was one of two chinese american pilots during world war ii. they come planed they were giving baggy men's coveralls to wear. we have a veteran of the war. now what is notable is that he is the first and only chinese american prisoner of war. we have the met kit. that was the only thing he has for water, rice and soup. he carried for over four and a half years in captivity as prisoner of war. this exhibition is a first base undertaking. also important and i want to take away the big picture that the chinese americans have been involved in united states military since the civil war over 150 year
