i'm an architect and i have been in san francisco chinatown almost 30 years. i want to speak on the ref -- revocation for the permit of the bridge and send it back to committee so more and meaningful dialogue can take place between all stakeholders. back when the project was developed 50 years ago, the city insisted to include a bridge from the hotel and the cultural center to chinatown. you may or may not like the design of the bridge but there was a genuine public and private partnership of the building. something the city wanted at the time. today, it appears the recreation and parks does not want to pay for the demolition of the city and instead shift the cost to the hotel developer. this means the city is going to ignore the 50-year public-private agreement and change the rules of the game. perhaps the giants and warriors should start worrying about their stadium and arenas because any deal with the city now can easily be changed by ignoring prior agreements. i'd like to remind everyone the cost for all the work is approved by voters in the 2020 propositi

also firefighters are investigating a two alarm fire in san francisco's chinatown. flames broke out at the building at washington, your grant avenue at about 2 30 this afternoon crusade, they were able to get the fire under control. about an hour later, no one was hurt. security guard shot a man who police say was threatening him with the knife early this morning in the confrontation happened just after four o'clock at 16th and utah streets in the mission. police say the armed security guard was patrolling the area when the armed man with the knife charged at him. the guard opened fire man was pronounced dead at the scene. officials say the security guard is cooperating with the investigation. and no arrests have been made. officials with the ecology say a man writing a motorized unicycle was killed in a collision with a garbage truck. investigators say this happened around four this morning at octavia and oak streets. in a statement, ecology said the person hit the back of the truck. as it headed north on octavia. the man was pronounced dead at the scene. the compa

san francisco surveillance camera captured video of a shoplifter in chinatown.er chased the thief out into the chinatown neighborhood. and the past a parked police car . believe it or not, but no arrests have been made. if you have any information on this video called san francisco police across the bay, the owners of a skate shop in oakland say they're devastated after a thief burglarized their business. have an early sunday morning at eight ball and downtown oakland. the whole break in was caught on surveillance video, which will share now we're about to see a man throwing an object at a glass door. the door breaks at least shattered glass everywhere. the owners say the burglar left in a white truck after stealing 15 skateboards, some accessories, clothing and ipad and bicycle losses here are in the thousands. during the quarantine. we put all our money together. and like, you know, pretty much all of our savings, and we open this up to just, you know, not even really, to like, make a lot of money just felt very like we've been violated. the shop owners say th
