we have four main giant sweep days in the city all tied to the san francisco giant's schedule. we just had our last one last weekend, where we had tabling at at&t park. hunter pence the right fielder for the giants has done an announcement saying that this is a city that we all have a stake in and one reason we teamed up with the giants on this, they had a really good message last year when they won the world series. that it wasn't one person who won the world series. it wasn't just one superstar, buster posey or sandoval that it was a team for the for everyone to pitch in. this is really a sponsor-funded campaign. we're looking at it for a three-year campaign. so far we have had success in getting partnership. we have our commercial corridor workers doing outreach with the businesses and not just how to keep the storefronts clean, but also asking people to put the posters up. we have had more than 11,000 people sign the giant sweep of pledge and i hope each of you commissioners will considersiping it as well. it's very simple things like put the trash in the right-colored bin.

powerful role models and so i think that that's a lot about the work that you are doing with the san francisco giants. so can you talk a bit about how you see the san francisco giants as being those role models and playing an active role and being upstanders? >> part of it is the role model stand point and using baseball as a hook to get people's attention. when we have a captive audience of 40,000 people plus a wide tell television and radio audience, we use that to get across the message about an issue. sometimes we get letters, hey, i came to see a game with my son and instead i'm hearing about a murder committee in yosemite and that's a downer of a way to start the day. sometimes that's a tough conversation with a fan but at least at the end of the day they've taken something away with them. also at the grass roots level we have a junior giants program, it's a youth baseball program throughout california. we use baseball as the hook to get kids to come together to learn about teamwork, we have a whole can urriculum that's based on the importance of reading, literacy, education, we have a whole vi

so, the giants are struggling a little bit. but the san francisco youth baseball league is nine under all star team and the pony title at the super regionals in brentwood california this past weekend and they now advance to the west zone championships in southern california beginning this saturday. this is the first time in more than 15 years that a san francisco pony league team has advanced this far in the tournament sequence and we want to wish them the best as they continue their quest to be the best in the west. when their season runs out, maybe we'll bring a couple of our all stars here to celebrate with them. on a serious note, i do want to take a moment to commend our meter staff for the great job they're doing, but for being great neighbors to our friends to camp tawanga. on july 3rd, camp tawanga experienced a defb treating accident. they had a tree fall in the middle their campground. it claimed the life of one of their counselors and injured four other people. there was an amazing response be the park service, local emergency management,
