san francisco mayor london breed may have some difficulty getting the board of supervisors to approve her plan to use tax breaks to attract new companies to the downtown area, according to the chronicle supervisor, connie chan. the board's budget share, says she does not support some of the mayor's proposals. now chan says she's concerned the proposed tax breaks could reduce revenue for city services. mayor breed is proposing to give tax discounts to new companies that moved to downtown san francisco up to $1 million per year for three years. oakland school board has rejected a budget plan that would have merged 10 schools and eliminated dozens of jobs. the board was split over the proposal after the district's teachers union said it opposed the cuts. oakland unified school district is facing a possible fiscal cliff in the coming year as pandemic era funds are set to run out. the board will have to consider a new budget proposal in the coming weeks. as of now, we do not know if the next proposals will involve possible cuts. and governor gavin newsom announced a state of emergency and
