area with pockets of even moderate rain arriving by saturday morning 7.30, for parts of the san francisco peninsula, including downtown san francisco. it's going to continue all morning long with another round of a pocket of wet weather arriving right around the san francisco peninsula, even into san mateo and half moon bay by mid morning at 8.15, as that storm track starts to shift to the south and east and then by around or noon lunch. time hour, widespread light scattered rain with some more. what moderate downpours expected for the san francisco peninsula as that starts to make its way into the east bay as well for the east bay shoreline and inland valleys for conquered and even livermore. and also tracking some widespread moderate rain even throughout the san francisco peninsula making its way into the south bay throughout your saturday afternoon. and it is going to be a fairly quick moving storm as that storm track starts to shift in exit to the south and east drying out in clearing up by saturday night with cooler temperatures expected for your saturday night overnight into sunday morning. b

so first of all, we're looking at parts of san francisco in the san mateo down the peninsula all the way covered across the entire south bay right now into downtown san jose. your east bay's own from fremont even out towards of the brentwood area. definitely getting some of that rain this morning. so just be careful on the roads. north bay, though, a lot lighter than what we experienced during the overnight hours. a lot of it starting to push out of the santa rosa area. moving through youngsville even into a fairfield of otto one. 0, one is going to be slick as you make your way to the golden gate bridge into san francisco. speaking up, you can see the deck here. it is a slick. it is wet and also a little bit windy out there. so just to put both hands on the steering wheel this morning and just take it easy on the roads. futurecast for showing us how long this storm system is going to be with us today. the bulk of the morning commute is going to be wet for you. and then things are going to start to push out of the bay area as we get into the evening hours. and then it looks like thin

peninsula. san francisco on up into portions of the east bay. but rainfall really yet to move into these areas. it's mostly marine sonoma counties up to lake in northern napa county where we are seeing some light to moderate showers this morning and that the really trying to push its way forward is going to out right there. so that means that we are going to be seeing a lessen the rainfall totals for the rest of the bay area. then we are going to be seeing to our north. so a few showers today. definitely leave the house with the rain jackets. ready to go. it's also going to be a cooler feel today to some dressed more for wintry weather. here's future cast right here. so you see those showers working their way into the bay area continuously throughout the morning, mostly for the north bay during morning hours, but also seeing showers on the peninsula as well as right along the east bay shoreline towards the middle of the day. not really pushing much further inland. that most of us will hold off until rainfall activities on into the evening and to

peninsula. we've seen some light sprinkles from this one in san francisco. elsewhere on the peninsula.re widespread. once you head up north of the golden gate. that's where we've seen consistently rainy conditions for much of northern into sonoma and then eventually up into lake and mendocino counties. let's start with the south bay light showers right now for the most part in the santa cruz mountains, an area of heavy rainfall west of fremont up towards union city. that's going to move to the north northeast. so really just skirting right past the majority of fremont resulting in an uptick in rainfall. very briefly there. potential of some cloud to ground lightning along with that one. also, some thunderstorms stretching from castro valley right up past walnut creek, san ramon and danville on up towards highway for just east of concord. and then those showers. also you, as you can see on the peninsula, very, very light sprinkles in areas like san francisco currently a little bit of rainfall picking up right around richmond in point richmond, especially. further northward. northern war

toward san francisco and down the peninsula. the odds of the showers making much used word progress remains low and the amounts that we will see are going to be barely more than a trace. it is going to have enough moisture for a chance of showers. those amounts will be very light. we are going to be in wait and see mode and we will be waiting to see where next chance decides to go down. let's add it up with futurecast. that model was indicating an 10 of an inch to a quarter of an inch of rain. barely more than a trace for the entire bay area. there are others that are more optimistic. there is another forecast model that is not as good but it indicates the potential for an 10th of an inch to a quarter inch rainfall. this is not the most likely scenario but visit in the realm of possibility that maybe some more moisture it had our way. winter weather advisory from midday friday to midday on saturday. nine of the 12 lifts are open and they will pick up some more friday into saturday. we have some fog that will be with us to start
