this is the end of the line where the cab ended up in between a couple of san francisco police department police cruisers. they are right now going through that cab looking for any kind of clues or evidence. let's take you to some actual video of the pursuit. this all started just after 2:00 this morning in the south of market area. san francisco police located that stolen cab. the driver took off, leading officers on a short chase through surface streets. the suspect then got on southbound highway 280 and the california highway patrol took over the chase and speeds reached 100 miles an hour. the driver of the stolen cab eventually ended up on the san francisco state university campus where he jumped out of the cab while it was still moving and still in drive and took off on foot and the cab rolled into a metal pole, which is one of those traffic barriers. the police have not been able to find the suspect. the stolen cab is here on campus as investigators are looking for clues. you can see the cab is an suv type vehicle and, again, we've got a couple of police cruisers still on scene as w

san francisco. after many public discussions, the proposed policy was to give san francisco police officers tasers. they could not be used on the elderly, the thin suspects, or suspects that were close to traffic, young people. there were many restrictions placed on them. the police chief suhr announced last night there were too many restrictions and three is worried that the police officers would pause and thing of the issue when they may not have time to think so he was withdrawing the proposal. the aclu applauds the decision and the group considers tasers dangerous. >> they are not an alternative to firearms and not nonlethal. they are less lethal and carry a risk of serious injury and death of the the idea is taze certificate a simple alternative to a firearm is false. >> that is what supporters of tasers like, the idea police having a nonlethal option. they prefer tasers to a gun. i asked the aclu what method would they prefer to a taser and they think officers, dispatchers need to be trained in solutions such as deescalation techniques, not drawing any kind weapon at all. we reached out to th
