female daredevil who base jumped off the hilton hotel in san francisco. police arrested two men who they say jumped with her. since then, both suspects have been released. kron 4's charles clifford explains how the jump the san francisco police department says that 25-year-old brendan weinstein and 26-year-old joshua glovac . . both from san francisco. . .base jumped off the top of the 46-story hilton tower near union square around 1130 tuesday evening.after jumping, the pair apparently parachuted several blocks to the west and landed on jones street. sfpd officers sitting in a police cruiser watched the whole thing.sotthe officers just happened to be in the area coincidentally and called into dispatch that they saw two people jump from a building. after landing the pair were taken into custody and have since been charged with trespassing and conspiracy for entering restricted areas of the hilton hotel without permission.sotthey were trespassing on property they didn't belong at and they were conspiring to enter that

. >>> san francisco police search for the driver behind a recent hit-and-run. a new report shows an alarming spike in pedestrian deaths across california. kpix 5's lisa chan is live in san francisco with the details. >> reporter: kenny, this is the intersection where a car struck a pedestrian on wednesday. now a new report shows that pedestrian fatalities are up 25% in the u.s. since 2010. now, in the last two years, the number of pedestrians dying in crashes has gone up 22%. this is the highest in decades. the governor's highway safety association did the study and is it shows pedestrians aren't looking both ways and are distracted by their phones. another big issue is alcohol. 15% of accidents with pedestrians involved a drunk driver. 34% of those killed were walking drunk. now most of these accidents happened at night. but the hit-and-run that nearly killed a 76-year-old woman here in north beach happened at 3 p.m. the woman had life-threatening injuries. now, witnesses say the car sped off down columbus street. so far, no arrests have been made. we are live
