bob redell is live at san jose state with the details. good morning. >> reporter: good morning to you. san jose state just signed a partnership with an online education group. it will offer two remedial math and one statistics class for incoming freshmen online. online classes are nothing new, people have taken them over the years. what makes san jose state's program unusual is it's specifically designed to do three things, one, bring down the cost of tuition, each class only $150 a student, two, get students out of college within four years, online classes can help assure that since they can handle many more students. and three, solve a problem that has been plaguing young people in this state. more than half of the incoming freshmen are not prepared for college in california, especially when it comes to math, which is why the governor, governor jerry brown, became so involved in pushing for this pilot program. the founder of udacity remembers the call he received from him last summer. >> i got a call from the governor saying there's a g

only activity for san jose. the alameda onramp that's highway 82 or actually el camino further north. onramp to northbound 880 is blocked by a road crew until 7:00 a.m. you have to use the other alternate onramps to that portion through san jose. the southbound side has construction going on between coleman and baskum. there's slowing because of the sensors reading equipment in the area but overall light volume of traffic. not a big deal for the south bay itself. as you get down here or heading through the east bay. a nice easy flow of traffic in commute directions through this area. and we'll look at 880 through oakland with volume of traffic which is starting to kick up just a tiny bit in the northbound direction. right here the curve and high street overpass not a big deal. bottlenecking as you come southbound as well around the same area. again, crews are clear from here. it's southbound between 16th and fruitdale where you have crews hanging out. keep that in mind for the oakland area. a pickup of volume at
