terrence evans was arrested in oakland on wednesday after taking off in a suspected stolen car in san lorenzo. these are images taken from the air as alameda sheriff's deputies caught up with him. they say deputies managed to dart the vehicle with a tracking device and that allowed investigators to keep up with the vehicle without engaging in a potentially dangerous pursuit. evans has been charged with reckless driving and resisting arrest. the oakland police department is mourning the death of an officer who was critically injured on duty almost six years ago, the department says. >> officer jordan wingate died saturday surrounded by his family, including his father, a retired oakland police captain. his law enforcement career began as an opd cadet back in 2013. he joined the force in 2017 and was named rookie of the year in 2018 by the oakland police officers association. the department says he was known for his hard work and the smile he always had on his face. police say back in 2018, when wingate was only 22, he was responding to a call about a suspicious person near the port of oakland.
