reporting live along the san pablo bay, i'm cheryl hurd, nbc bay area news. >>> thank you, cheryl. that vintage warplane that she referenced that collided with the ses ma made it outside of bayonne, california. that's 100 miles east of the crash site in a.m. dore county. outside of the home of one of the plane's owners, two women locked the gate saying nothing to reporters. dennis and brian sanders owned both planes involved in the collision. it's a british-made warplane that's been souped up for air races. the tail section of the plane was damaged. but both the pilot and his wife got out unharmed. a former military pilot who visited the airfield today said the plane and its owners are well-known in this community. >> i've met them. i know who they are. everyone up here seems very extremely experienced as far as piloting is concerned. >> now, eckert said he was surprised that the pilot of that plane would fly 100 miles before landing. this airstrip does offer privacy. the manager of the airport is respecting the homeowner's desire for privacy and is not commenting. nbc bay area was
