meteorologist sandhya patel joins us with the details of this active whether we are experiencing. sandhya: it is unbelievable to see so many lightning strikes across one area. i want to show that to you on live doppler 7. we do get thunderstorms in the spring, and as you see here, it is happening right now, 12 strikes in the last couple of hours clustered around and to the northeast of santa rosa. precipitation rates, 0.3 inches per hour. bennett valley road getting sundown pours. some areas receiving 0.4 inches to 0.6 inches of rain. you will notice here where this cluster is heading, moving to the southeast. should be in sonoma at 626, moving very slow. also catching some showers around byron highway. as we were in the picture here, you will see that those showers and thunderstorms will slowly diminish by 8:00 p.m. until then, through this evening, more hail, more lightning not out of the question. certainly seeing those thunderstorms developing, and some showers developing right now from our east bay hills camera. i will be back with the rest of the forecast, coming up. dan: tha
