let's go to abc7 news meteorologist sandy patel with details on fire. weather watch issued for this weekend. sandy yeah, dan the concern is gusty winds developing and the humidity dropping this weekend. >> that fire weather watch covers our hills, also covers lake solano and mendocino counties. it's 5 a.m. saturday until 5 p.m. sunday. those wind gusts 40 to 50 miles an hour, minimum humidity down to 15 to 25. so any fires that do break out are going to rapidly grow in size and intensity. here's an hour by hour. look at those winds coming up saturday afternoon in the 25 to 35 mile an hour range, even stronger over the hilltops, as you will notice, by 8 p.m, you're looking at 43 miles an hour in fairfield. those gusty winds remaining with us on sunday morning. so the fire danger index takes into account the wind and the fuels. and obviously the humidity levels. we are going into that high to very high category by saturday afternoon. and there will be some areas of red in the northern part of our viewing area, which is extreme fire danger for saturday nigh

. >> we are abc seven news meteorologist sandy patel is here with a first look at the bay area forecast. >> sandy yeah, it's just nice to see that snow in the mountains. dan and anna, let me show you a live view from zephyr cove where you can see the clouds are moving quickly there. flurries right now in lake tahoe. they are chaining up on 80 and 50. truckee is reporting snow. you can see in the sierra there is snow falling right now at the higher elevations here in the bay area, we've had a few showers, five hundredths of an inch in napa. as we go hour by hour, you will notice that the snow will continue in the mountains for a few more hours for us, it's just going to be clouds pushing on out of here. and those showers that came through earlier measured in some areas like napa, as i mentioned, but only trace amounts in places like santa rosa, four hundredths in ukiah. now, here's what's going to happen. the clouds are still around at 7:00. look at the clouds clear. and those temperatures drop down to the 30s and 40s for many parts of the bay area. i'll be back with a chillier forecast

. >> meteorologist sandy patel is here with the forecast. sandy. and i want to show you an even prettier picture not to top what's atop out what's out there, but look at this. yeah, this is incredible. all island. and you can see just those high clouds filtering the sun. those clouds are made of ice crystals. and that's what's giving us that extra oomph. all right. let's talk about el nino. there is an advisory today that came out from the climate prediction center and they monitor what's happening near the equatorial pacific. warmer than average sea surface temperatures continued in september. and so here is what they're saying. el nino is going to continue through the spring. there's an 80% chance, a 75 to 85% chance of a strong event this upcoming winter and a 3 in 10 chance of a historically strong event that rivals those back in 2015, 2016, and 1997 98. i remember the 97, 98 event. and you don't want to go down that path again. it was a lot of devastation, obviously, so we'll see what happens there. not predicting strong local impacts. they're

media meteorologist sandhya patel is back with the weather. sandy. >> yeah. blowing through here as well. ama and dan. let's take a look at the winds gusting to 22 in napa, 24 in fairfield. that onshore breeze is going to continue to cool us off tonight. air quality is good to moderate as you will notice. and a lovely view from our santa cruz camera right now. but watch out for sneaker waves down there and rip currents as that risk is still there until the wee hours of the morning. air quality will be good for any outdoor plans both saturday and sunday on live doppler seven, we have the fog and some higher clouds as well. looking at tomorrow, it's going to be a combination of the two breezy conditions mid 60s to mid 70s and on sunday temperatures will bottom out below average for many of you. monday, we turn things around, it'll warm up. and as we head into tuesday, we'll hold on to some of those 80s the accuweather seven day forecast, it's dry tomorrow. a level one system bringing us some showers for your sunday and then monday we'll go back to a warmer patt

meteorologist sandhya patel is back with that sandy and dan, this nice looking weather that we had todays going to continue the next couple of days. >> so enjoy it during the day and for halloween. it's going to be quite the treat. let's take a look at a live picture from our sutro tower camera and san francisco just looking beautiful tonight. let's take a look at that trick or treat forecast for the little ones heading out shortly after sunset. it's still going to be mild. they don't have to wear those extra layers underneath their costumes. temperatures will be in the 60s, close to 70 degrees in some areas. a halloween treat at 7 p.m. and then a few creepy clouds coming through here at 8:00. but they're harmless. we're looking at not bone chilling cold at 9 p.m, only mid 50s to low 60s. so definitely nice weather for trick or treaters or for any of you going out to halloween parties, perhaps in the castro. let's take a look at live doppler seven. now these are the high clouds that have been passing through. but overall pattern, high pressure is in command of our weather. and that's why

meteorologist sandhya patel is here with the forecast sandy. >> yeah, dan and irma, we're two weeks awayoween and we're talking about the possibility of record. >> go figure. right now i want to show you a live picture from our sutro tower camera. you can barely make out the golden gate bridge because of the fog. that fog is going to get squashed down tomorrow as this ridge of high pressure is building and as it builds, it will bring us the heat. the next couple of days. there's a heat advisory that is in effect for much of the bay area. it's going to start first out in the santa clara valley, santa cruz mountains area at 11 a.m. tomorrow, running until 11 p.m. thursday for the rest of the region. it starts late tomorrow night and goes until thursday night. the concern here is anybody who's sensitive to heat has a higher risk of getting sick from the hot weather. so definitely stay hydrated and keep cool. beach hazards statement begins tomorrow morning in the wee hours runs until thursday morning. increased risk of sneaker waves, particularly for west northwest facing beaches. the surf i

meteorologist sanjay patel is here with the forecast sandy. >> yeah, dan, and we had a double digit droptemperatures for inland areas today. forget about 80s and 90s from the weekend. >> we had 60s and 70 and some showers. let's take a look at a live picture right now from our sfo camera. and here's a look at the rainfall so far. the north bay got some of the higher totals. rio a quarter of an inch, two hundredths in santa rosa, 13 hundredths in mill valley. you'll notice, though, some showers have made it all the way into half moon bay, 100th of an inch, even into the east bay. orinda in moraga measuring 12 hundredths of an inch. other areas have had trace amounts, so just enough to dampen the ground but not measure from napa to sfo, oakland, hayward, concord. it has been one of those days where you need the wipers off and on. here's a look at the live doppler seven right now. and although you're not seeing any moisture up above, there is moisture down below the radar beam. we're seeing some wet roadways out there due to some drizzle as well. the cold front that came through today has p
