you have easily been a dry spot there in the santa clara valley. all the mountains around. up that moisture and stealing it from. yes. so you are running into some heavy rain in the santa cruz mountains and some heavy snow on mount hamilton. this right here, though, is the spot i'm watching most close from the richmond center fell bridge on up 80 through richmond up the car, keen us through the late going up to fairfield heavy, heavy rainfall here. watch for some standing water on routes like highway 37 on 80 highway. 29 as well as on the richmond center fell bridge and highway 101. these areas have consistently seen heavy rainfall for about the past hour now. so we've got some water stacking up there and some of those poor drainage areas. also seeing some rain picking up out there. ocean beach in sunset districts in san francisco. now the heavy snow continues in the sierra and along the north coast, too. that is going to continue all the way through the evening tonight. so it's not until tomorrow. that advice you head up getting you head up into the sierra nevada. futurecas

daytime highs today are topping off in the upper 50s and lower 60s down into the santa clara valley with a little bit more cooler in the tri-valley area and a little bit cooler than that as we head off to the coast but not by much. we expect a gradual warming trend headed into the weekend but first things first and dive straight into the local forecast close to lake tahoe. if you're headed out for presidents' day weekend up to that area, expect upper 40s and lower 50s all weekend long even as we head into monday. if you are staying local, i don't blame you. it will be beautiful with partly cloudy skies and daytime highs warming up expecting upper 60s just on presidents' day alone and upper 50s along the coast. no matter what, it will be sunny and mild. the official sunset tonight is close to 6 and headed into the next seven days it will continue to be a gradual warming trend until next week. so all weekend it will be beautiful. what a cold front returns in the forecast as early as next tuesday. that is the reason we are seeing temperatures dropping into the upper 40s with rain in the for

the golden gate as we head towards noon and early afternoon and it goes into and out of the santa clara valley and the santa cruz mountains by midafternoon. this is not going to be a long- led rain chance. if you get some showers and it's less than a 50/50 chance of anything measurable, it won't be much more than a trace, then clear skies tomorrow night, which means cold temperatures by early wednesday morning and early thursday morning, inland temperatures dropping to or below freezing. the next rain chance is way off the coast by thursday afternoon. that could go either way, a 40 to 50% rain chance thursday night into friday, but there's a strong chance it stays off the coast entirely, which means those numbers would drop significantly. right now temperatures are backing down to the upper 40s to around 50 degrees, exactly 50 in a number of locations, chilly enough tomorrow morning with 30s inland and low to mid- 40s around the bay. highs tomorrow with those gusty northerly winds aren't going to warm up a whole lot. we'll be a good 5 to 10 degrees below average. that puts us up in the low to
