trying to get into the santa clara valley. t that red splotch thereover the santa cruz mountains. look at the last hour, few showers perhaps holding together for that southern edge of the santa clara valley but it's perfect example of that's the only place getting rain right now. most of us aren't. and that's the way the first half of today is going to go. but look what happens by thursday afternoon. this gets us ahead to like 2:00, 3:00 today and now here's 4:00. a little more widespread nature to the rain. so thursday -- you perhaps a little more likely than the last few days to notice rain. and maybe an occasional isolated thunderstorm maked in on that. and it'd be in the afternoon today. here's why friday is more impressive. look at this big slam that shows up right there. so that's probably the more impressive time frame of this whole thing from friday afternoon through saturday afternoon. because there are going to be two separate waves of rain that come through here, that gets us ahead to saturday morning and you can see

it will be warm in the santa clara valley. i think san jose's best bet may be late wednesday or more likely friday into saturday. all right. sal is here. he's been dancing as fast as he can. where are we going? >> we're going to the bay bridge. steve, the bay bridge really is very, very slow. taking away a lane at this time of the morning. and remember, this is going to go on for the rest of the week. and we have very slow traffic. it's also backing up onto the eastshore freeway this morning on 80. it is backed up into berkeley and 580 is backed up nearly to 24. and that's because one lane is closed on the bay bridge westbound one lane is closed eastbound. that will have more of an effect for the nighttime commute. so that is having a big effect on the overall east bay commute. you can see for yourself all the slowing there. now, if you want to think about it, using the san mateo bridge, it's a little crowded there as well. but it's still better than using the bay bridge, in my opinion, or use bart 702. let's go back to the de
