the goal is to avoid sending sleepy students to school big basin redwoods state park in the santa cruzains, will reopen to the public for the first time since that massive fire there two years ago, the california state parks department announcing today that opening day will be coming up on friday. july 22nd. now there will only be limited access for visitors, since much of that park was destroyed by the fire earlier today on ktvu we spoke to chris for with the california state parks santa cruz district. and he says, unfortunately, the campgrounds are still closed. what we're opening is, uh, in the historic core. there is some limited parking there and there will be access to the redwood loop trail, which is um, takes off right from the campfire center. people will be able to see the former building sites where the headquarters was where the large was where the store and museum where but they won't be able to access any of the camping areas. visitors will be required to make a reservation ahead of time and that online reservation system opens on friday. what is shifting our weather patt
