sara bloomquist is live with more details. >> reporter: rick and monica, this is the block where it happenedear-old resident has a valid permit to carry a weapon and he used his .45 caliber last night when he and his wife were attacked walking home from work and police say at this point it appears to be a clear case of self-defense. today neighbors in queen village were talking about what unfolded here last night at second an bainbridge, a 65-year-old residence they know as sal defended himself by firing his gun at the couple. >> good for him. >> a lot of commotion from what we heard, old man sal we know him from the neighborhood. heard there was a ruckus and he pulled out a gun and shot a couple of people. >> walking down the street you shouldn't be attacked for no reason. >> the couple was walking home from work and they told police two men passed them by and two men said to the husband what are you looking at and punched him and threw him to the ground and started assaulting him and turned their attention to the wife knocking her down and punching her as well.
