homicide detectives have now joined that investigation and "action news" reporter sarah bloomquist joins us live at police headquarters. sarah you've got the latest on this. >> reporter: brian, that's right. this investigation was handed over to the arson task force which includes members of the philadelphia police homicide unit atf agents and the fire marshal. they're doing interviews here right now. this happened after the fire marshal determined that not only was this deadly fire an arson but that it was set using an incendiary device. the blaze killed one and sent five others to the hospital including a three-year-old girl. the blaze broke out around 6:15 on the three story apartment on kensington avenue. residents describe pure panic as there were no lights and no smoke alarms and the building was filling with thick black smoke. three people jump fred upper floors, three others rescued by firefighters. one man who jumped died from his injuries. we've learned that a canine unit hit on a flammable material on the first floor. the fire marshal has since determined that this blaze was s
