what we think happened here is the ground became saturated with water last night from those heavy rains and then a good gust of wind, maybe 50, 70, 80 miles an hour knocked that tree through the house. usually when you're dealing with tornadoes, you think about more damage than just a downed tree like we're dealing with here. there would be other damage, a lot of limbs down in the area. maybe shingles ripped off roofs but because this was an isolated situation here, we think maybe this had more to do with some heavy winds and rain rather than a tornado but we should point out that an ef-1 tornado and as they're sawing here because this truck is actually stuck because they can't get through here, an ef-1 tornado has maximum winds of 94 miles an hour and capable of uprooting trees but again, when you're dealing with tornado damage, you're dealing with much more than just one tree falling through a house. certainly a lot of the damage we saw in carroll county and harford county was more consistent of that -- of a tornado. very quickly, i did get some information from the national weather s
