schmidt, on november 11, 2020, president trump tweeted about you saying -- and here's a quote, "a guy schmidt, a philadelphia commissioner and so-called republican or rino, is being used big time by the fake news media to explain how honest things were with respect to the election in philadelphia. he refuses to look at a mountain of corruption dishonesty. we win." as a result of that tweet and the cnn interview you gave where you stated the dead voter claims inennsylvaa were false, you and your staff were subjected to disturbing threats. can you tell us about at? >> the threats prior to that tweet, and on some level it seems silly to talk about a tweet, but we can really see the impact that they have because prior to that, the threats were pretty general in nature. corrupt election officials in philadelphia are going to get what's coming to them. you're what the second amendment is for. you're walking into the lion's den. all sorts things like that. after the president tweeted at me by name, calling me out the way that he did, the threats became much more specific, much more graphic,

mr., schmidt, thank you so much for joining us this evening.witter. just ask, how are you and your family doing? after all this time? and are you still receiving threats, especially now, in the wake of this testimony? >> thank you for having me on, eamonn. it's also very kind of view to ask that question. it's really one that i get. so, i appreciate it. threats began, certainly, it before the election. and it's important for me to say, i'm not the only election official in america who received threats. there were many who did. i'm sure there are many who had it even worse than i did. but after the president tweeted at me by name on the 11th, it really changed in tone. it was no longer something in general -- like, with the second amendment is for. it's naming my daughters, naming my son, their ages, their address, pictures of our home. all of that stuff. so, it certainly became pretty harrowing for some time. after the new president was inaugurated, they subsided. and then whatever whenever there is chatter about some sort of arizona-style audi

and they will complete this elements of willful blindness. >> michael schmidt, what are you looking foron the question of the fraud, the committee has -- it is greatest challenge it has faced is obviously trying to cleave donald trump off from his base and get the base to basically, you know, look at january 6 in a different way than they have. and in that area, the committee has long thought that in terms of the fundraising issue, and the raising the money off of stop the steal, they thought they might have a chance at making an argument to republicans and trump supporters that they're money had been stolen from them. that, the campaign knew that the election had not been stolen but nevertheless republicans moved forward with a massive fundraising effort around that, raising tens of millions of dollars, and that if you one of the issues they may do that on would be related to this fund raising. was this part of a larger conspiracy? a fraud where they knew at the heart was a falsehood, yet they raised the money? so there's sort of two avenues off of that issue where the committee hopes
