as scott macfarlane reports, now it will be easier for local military veterans to get inside d.c.'s giant v.a. medical center. scott. >> gngd eve a recent news 4 i-team report revealed a big problem for local vets. a parkinghortage outside the medical center. it serves more than 100,000 veterans a year. we found some vets with severe mobility challenges struggling to walk nearly a third of a mile during that parking shortage. the v.a. pmised it would open a new larger garage by april. today it happened. elevators inside still aren't working sohere is a shuttle to carry vets with mobility challenges from the garage to the front door. the walk is now shorter and it's welcome change for veterans who told us they considered skipping doctors appointments because of the hassle ofinetting side. that's the director of the medical center who said it was designed with patient mobility challenges in mind. >> when you look athis garage blind us, the first two floors are rerved for handicap parking and there's handicap parking on o eachthe additional upper floors and it's taken relief off some
