scott mcgrew is adrszs part of the story in ten minutes. >>> we're learning more about the shooters in the san bernardino massacre. the fbi has now taken a closer look at the suspect's families for crews. >> bob redell joining us now. that includes farook's mother who is being investigated who was living in the apartment with the couple. >> correct. yes, the u.s. department of justice now investigating the moort of syed farook who along with iz wife shot and killed 14 people last week. the mother lived h her son in daughter-in-law in redlands. the feds want to know if she knew what the couple was up to. considering that the husband and wife built at least 15 pipe bombs and stock piled nousss of rounds of ammunition in the home. the two rifles they used for bought by a friend and neighbor of farook. that man is so distraught, he stuck himself into a mental health facility, not clear if he's facing charges. investigators don't know what role if any isis played in the couple's radicalization. the wife tashfeen malik pledged allegiance to isis just before the attack. >> she's the girl next

. >> and i'm scott mcgrew. the situation in san bernardino still very active 24 hours later. authorities gathering evidence this morning at the spot where officers got into a shootout with those suspects killing both of them. you can see the suv they were driving bullet ridden with evidence markers strewn across the road in the city. within the last 90 minutes authorities gave us an update on that investigation. >> and here are some of the latest numbers that came out. 14 people were killed. we knew that, but now we know 21 people were wounded. that's up from 17. only two suspects are now believed to be involved. that husband and wife who lived in southern california. and in their home 12 pipe bombs were recovered. nbc bay area's bob redell has been tracking the latest breaking details this morning. what do you have, bob? >> kris and scott, law enforcement telling us this morning that syed farook and tashfeen malik were heavily armed with pipe bombs both after and during the shooting attack yesterday morning in san bernardino. police believe the married couple fired 65 to 75
