girl scouts not that. she joined and all of a sudden she had girl scouts friends and sisters and they started doing community service projects and started joining student government. what i found out was this young girl named irene had been homeless all her life. she had been in like 10 schools. and she immediately was grounded in girl scouting with her sisters in girl scouting. she went on actually to speak nationally on the issues impacting teens and homelessness and she's now gone on to college on a full ride and she speaks eloquently about how just in one year as a junior in high school girl scouting completely changed her opportunities. so it is never too late, girls. it is never too late, parents, to join girl scouts. >> when do you think we will see a female president and will she be a girl scout? and joe personally knew four of those six scouts. so, when you meet joe and you shake his hand you're in a sense shaking hands with the 19th century and he from childhood on, he was an interpreter when military people and newspaper people came to interview his grandpa about what happened at little big horn. that got him so interested in documenting the history of his people he ended up becoming the crow tribal historian. and here he is, at the grave of his grandfather, and of course, in a second or two you'll know that joe went on himself into world war ii and did his war deeds in the family tradition against the germans. and of course, the indians were in uniform during the apache wars. ironically, one of our heroes here is an apache, but again, some of the apaches helped fight other apaches. here you see apache scouts who helped capture geronimo, the last military engagement, basically, but they were usually using indians to fight other indians. in fact, as we see here, the last picture with geronimo, 1886, and here's a sioux warri

scout.hnically do although some individual troops wink and nod if someone says not so sure about that but the girl scouts have kind of gotten over that. one of the things that has happened with the catholic church and the girl scouts somebody discovered a pamphlet produced by planned parenthood that was distributed in conjunction. it's a pretty 10tenuous connection in new york city and this has become the evidence, the hard evidence, that there is some kind of secretive union between planned parenthood and the girl scouts, probably promoting contraception. as you know, the bishops these days pretty much believe any form of contraception is abortion-inducing. so it's the same as supporting abortion. >> i mean how far from the new testament can these people get? right? when they go after the girl scouts? >> no. for all of the -- you know, my son was an eagle scout and scouting has a lot of good things to do for girl scouts and boy scout's but to attack this the religious right has done this on
