that is because of this low pressure system sitting off of the atlantic seaboard around virginia and north carolina. it is bringing heavy rain to the eastern shore. focus city at about 0.75 inches of rain in the last hour. this will spin around all night bringing light rain to the majority of the viewing area. it is something we will have to watch throughout the evening. as far as the rain fall today, it is a bit misleading. the main rain gauge is at bwi marshall. they had just a trace of rain. for august, we are about 0.1 inches below normal. year to date, we are almost 8 inches below normal. temperatures are pretty good. the cloud cover kept temperatures low. anywhere from the 70's west of the area and also on the eastern shore they work in the 70's. ocean city is now at 68 degrees. the majority of the precipitation on the eastern shore. there is the low pressure system over the hampton roads area on the outer banks of north carolina. that will sit there for the next couple of days. it will bring with it quite a bit of rain for the eastern portions of our viewing area. as it spends
