in the senate race, republican adam laxalt is more than 2 points ahead currently of incumbent senatoremocrat catherine cortez masto. this would be a pickup. on the house side as you look at districts one seat called for republicans, all three incumbents that are democrats are ahead in races that are still too close to call. now, as we take a look at the situation with the senate races, let's just say, for the sake of argument, that the leads hold and we just call those with the lead that's in place now. that means nevada would go to the republicans, arizona would go to the democrats, and there you see 50 to 49 with, once again, the state of georgia. what's happening in georgia. the democratic incumbent, senator raphael warnock will be in a run off with republican herschel walker. that will be december 6th. if it panned out like that what if scenario it would be control of the u.s. senate coming down to december 6th much like it was when it was in january after the last election with two senate runoffs that determined control of the u.s. senate. republicans had a good showing elsewhere

what we are seeing in race after race in the senate are razor thin margins. even if the republicans start winning a lot of these senate seats, mark is right. it's just showing how absolutely divided we are as a people. there is no huge mandate. >> you are moving the needle in places that biden won by 10 to 15 points. the house races that the gop picked up in the last round, they moved that needle. it's not always a large way. >> what we are seeing is the needle is moving back and forth. to the right or left of center. a lot of those districts people were saying in 2018 democrats are moving the needle on winning seats that were republican. >> karl rove. >> the democrats did not move the needle last time around. the republicans did in 2020 and are moving it again in 2022. the democrats will lose control of the house. it will be a considerable number. it will be 20 or 25 seats. reading goods things for democrats, there ain't much good news for them. >> on the senate side. the next cycle sets up for republicans with the map. what is being defended. this was not a great cycle on the map.
