i was not around so i am not sure how any behavior was handled by the commission or sfpd but it seems to have had a pretty bad reputation and eroded trust in the neighborhood and people lost patience with them. if you look closely, it is clear that the letters are against the old owner and not necessarily the new one even though they are expressing a great deal of skepticism about how the new venue would operate. it is difficult to find, even the letters of opposition specifics about the current operator. because there is a new owner and opportunity here for fresh start, because she has worked well with sfpd and us and the neighborhood because it is unrelated because there is a new name, and there has been so much support from the neighborhood, staff recommends the approval of the permit. >> tecate. -- ok. on the second of this year, and i bring it to your attention that i was approached by two sfpd officers and almost beat up. on january 2, i was approached by two police officers that wanted to know if i had ripped off a computer one week earlier, and i said, "i did not rip off any computer. i picked up a pamphlet and gave it to a woman." they grabbed me. i said, "hold it, hold it. this is undue procedure." i was jack-booted. to this day, i go to the veterans administration and have myself checked out, i am numb. they had two sets of handcuffs on me. when i was delivered to the police station, my feet were numb. they pulled me out and dropped me out on the handcuffs and said, "you are out now." i said, "is this a school for bruts?" he smiled and walked away. i was there for two hours. i said, "you have not asked any questions." i was told to shut up. later, they made me sign some documents that i would be in jail for another couple of hours. a notice of theft of lost property. i said, "you have got to be kidding me." and then, badge 124 took my documents and literally threw them in the s

the sfpd does not, and i do not think you do either. whenever on social activity goes on, it lands directly on our doorstep. we are right there. one of the major reasons the problems have lessened is because of our efforts. we managed after years to get the parking area closed off, and that is the only reason. this has been a constant effort with all of the businesses in the neighborhood, particularly the grocery store owner. there was a lot of opposition from the bar owner. it is great for the musicians, but we do live there. it is a very small residential neighborhood, and we are right there to bear the brunt of it. there is plenty of evidence that this does not fit the neighborhood. president newlin: thank you. appreciate your comments. the matter is at the commission, and since we are in expedited mode, i would like to ask the commissioners to make an amendment to the hours so that they are allowed, if this is approved, that if the holiday falls on a monday that they can use the normal -- normal weekend hours on a sunday. >> i move

going back to finding out if there are incidents, you can check with the sfpd. we have been sued for having confrontations' because our security is trying to keep the neighborhood quiet because we have a condo on all four sides. they are coming across the bay. they cruised into the lot. they wait until our patrons finely go to the parking lot, and and they end up parking themselves there and start making noise. we have to send security to try to mitigate the problem and keep the noise and down a period of police and everyone puts pressure on us in that situation. sometimes if there are no altercations and we find out our customers' cars got broken into and they are crying and screaming that they lost their credit cards and purses and all about. there is an attendant in the beginning, and at 12:00 they take up and split. i think it is irresponsible. i understand the small business people, but what about us among we incur a lot of costs to protect the neighborhood. on fourth street i practically secure the whole street. i have a guard who monitors the parking lot
