sgt crowley comes to the scene because he has been called there because of someone acting suspicious.hat does he do? he asks the individual to come out. the individual says, know i'm not coming out. so, they enter into a back and forth. professor gates goes and gets his identification. sergeant crawlcrowley enters into the home. what is wrong with that? in this instance, this officer did not know who professor gates was. he had every right to follow him in. there was reasonable suspicion that something had happened. then we get to the part where there is back and forth which leads to where sergeant crowley arrests professor dates. that was wrong. i don't believe there was enough justification for an arrest. the second wrong was that the president got involved. i don't believe this was a case and a scenario where the president should have gotten involved. greta: i think what is troubling is that to be president got involved. >> president obama can walk this back. he would not say anything. greta: i would like to hear the 911 call and i would like to hear the transmission calls among th

sgt. james crowley of the cambridge, massachusetts, police department. now, the so-called beer summit was an effort by the administration to stem the controversy over the president's comment that the police acted "stupidly" during gates' arrest that took place earlier this month. the gathering was also attended by vice president joe biden. it took place in the historic white house rose garden. this was the first time that professor gates and sergeant crowley came face-to-face since the incident that took place on july 16. following his brief stop at the white house, sergeant crowley spoke to reporters in washington. here's what he said. >> we had a cordial, productive discussion with the president, vice president and professor gates. we have all agreed that it is important to look forward, rather than backward in an effort to move not just the city of cambridge or two individuals past this event, but the whole country to move beyond this. >> now, the sergeant also told reporters that no apologies were exchanged during the meeting. professor gates also re
