china's shanghai index is up a little bit. continued trading in a narrow range and ended with a quarter percent loss. japan's nikkei also started with small gains, it was up 3/10 of a percent at the beginning of the day. and then it started slipping and finished with less than a half percent loss. the largest index was hong kong which lost 2/3 of a percent. u.s. markets closed with losses of more than one and a half %. they made quite a comeback from earlier losses. american investors may have panicked a bit when they saw asian and european markets dropping. it could be another down day for wall street. futures are down but the dow jones did climb back above 17,000 and the s&p 500 back above 2000. they both dipped below. they didn't close there. there's some key levels where if the markets close below the levels it's a sign that we're going down a little further. >> i can't help but think of you when i'm watching the markets at home. maybe i should text her. there's a buying opportunity. >> pam and i have a long history of doi
