adam shapiro has been following anxious awaiting this news as i have.m, do we have a dollar amount how much this would cost or in fact save over 10-year period. reporter: apparently the legislation, david would decrease the federal deficit over 10-year period, $321 billion. so this would appear to be within the requirement for reconciliation. that is doesn't add to deficits. now in particular getting back to the number of people that you were reporting would lose insurance according to the score, about 22 million by 2026. but 15 million next year would be uninsured compared with the current law, according to the budget office. but the dollar figure over 10 years. saved would decrease the federal deficit. would be in line with the necessity if they want to pass this via reconciliation, it doesn't add one penny to the annual deficit. david: go to grover norquist, americans for tax reform. president of that organization. grover, 321 billion is a lot of money. as i remember that is twice as much, perhaps a little more so than what the house bill was said to

adam: i'm adam shapiro and this is a fox business network special report. now as you know, it has been a disturbing and incredible day in the nation's capital, the number three house republican steve scalise hospitalized in critical condition and three others wounded after a gunman this morning opened fire on them, as they practicefor charity baseball game. capitol police working security at the field shot e suspect who later died at the hospital. he's believed to have been an outspoken bernie sanders supporter who once volunteered for the sanders campaign. according to investigators and witnesses, the shooter approached the practice area in alexandria, virginia, armed with a rifle and a handgun and then opened fire. [ gunshots ] . adam: witnesses later describe the terrifying scene to us. >> i was next in line to bat, standing next to the batting cage when the first shot rang out. second shot rang out within a couple of seconds. pretty obvious at that point, we had a shooter, i could tell from my perspective, from somewhere behind the third base dugout. i

andrew shapiro, former assistant secretary of state, that's your title. you know d.c. well.does all this mean then when we look at comey and the fact that he n longer sits in that seat calle fbi director and the reporting saying that it's been somewhat tumultuous in terms of identifying his replacement in d.c. when you are missing the fbi director, what does that mean for the intelligence community? >> well, they have an acting director. and the current acting director andrew mccabe is a well-respected fbi official. but at the end of the day i think that the trump administration knows that this is going to be a highly scrutinized choice. so they are looking to try and make that choice properly, but it's also as we've seen again and again the trump personnel process has been disorganized. so it's not surprising that this personnel process is going through the same bumps that we have seen before. >> yeah, we were hearing reporting it was going to be decided earlier. clearly that has not happened. andrew shapiro, thank you so much. >> thank you. >> all right, demonstrators, we

liz: adam shapiro, thank you so much. the markets are kind of moving all over the place to make that segue. i mean, you know, as you look at the markets right now, we are looking at how they will close for the week but let's look at oil prices. they did finish up slightly higher after touching six-month lows on thursday. as we see with the dow jones industrial punching in by 2 points at the moment, we are looking for a record on stocks, crude at the moment in the aftermarket session 44.74, up about two-thirds of a percent but the commodity is down for the fourth week in a row. we have rising crude output outweighing any impact of opec cuts that are supposed to go next year. at the same time u.s. drillers adding rigs again. this is for 22 consecutive weeks. what does that do? that puts more pressure on prices or at least keeps the lid on the higher oil might be able to be. too many rigs going and moving oil. let's get right to the floor show, cme group and matt, i want to start with you simply because the amazon and whole

adam shapiro is with us.of the repeal and replacement bill, and now i think you got some more detail. >> reporter: this is about medicaid, and this is where the house and the senate disagree among the republicans. the senate plan would begin the shrinking of the medicaid expansion in 2021 and then bring it back to pre-existing obamacare levels by 2024. that's essentially seven years from now. what the house wanted to do was save those medicaid dollars by 2020 and do that in a rapid pace. so this is much slower than what the house originally planned. it's very big because this is where the big tax savings take place through the medicaid expansion and returning us to the levels before obamacare, stuart. stuart: very short and to the point, adam. well done, indeed. you reduced it to bullet points which we can all understand, and the market understands it. look, let me go through some of the bullet points here, because this sounds like a workable replacement bill for obamacare. taxes repealed. they're gone. the i
