. >>> it is day three of the jury deliberations in the shawn extra leevy trial. the 12 men and women remain behind closed doors debating the fate of the defendant. palace leshan is live outside the d.c. superior courthouse. bruce? >> reporter: i wish i had more news for you. we now one juror turned up a little late about 11:15, about 45 minutes ago so they were not able to start deliberating until then. there have been very, very long lines outside the courthouse going through new security procedures here. that's kind of held up some of the deliberation as well. but one exhort spokesman -- court spokesman tells us that it's not that unusual for a jury to take seven to ten days. these are careful jurors, well- educated jurors to make sure they are doing exactly the right thing as they do this. but i will also tell you that plenty of the attorneys down here will say to you that the weekend is an incentive, especially because it's a holiday weekend. thanksgiving's coming up. that's putting probably some pressure on some of the jurors to try and come forward with a d

[yelling] >> demonstrators upset with the plan to raise tuition by 8%. they were protesting outside a meeting in which university students were discussing the issue. at one point an officer drew his gun while scuffling with the students. the chief of police defended that officer saying the crowd was unruly and aggressive. but some of the demonstrators accused the cops of going way too far. >> they didn't guess a disperse order of the they came charging with be tons, i kept repeating i'm a nonviolent activists. my hands were down. an officer kept striking. an officer reached over the rest. i'm not sure if they are allowed to put it to their face and spray but he did it to half a dozen people. >> board of regents scheduled to vote on tuition hike tomorrow. now a look at what's working on the road to recovery. in the retail industry, low prices don't always lead to success. just ask k-mart.
