meteorologist sheena parveen in the first alert weather center. sheena? >> you don't need a heavy jacket this morning but this afternoon you may well be in short sleeves. it will be warmer today than it was yesterday. currently if you're going to walk outside, we're in the 40s, mid to upper 40s right now. 48 degrees atlantic city and wildwood, 51 now in dover. 47 philadelphia, 41 degrees in allentown, 46 in pottstown. we do have a couple showers moving in that we'll keep an eye on. most of the area is dry. if you're in lancaster county, light showers or sprinkles moving through, some approaching berks county. not a big deal because we will be dry this afternoon but the warm temperatures, that's what we're looking forward to. as we go through this morning, by about 8:00 a.m., temperature around 50 degrees, by noon, mid-60s. by 4:00 p.m., we're topping out around 70 degrees, 10 degrees warmer than yesterday. we keep on warming as we go through the next couple days. we're looking at record high temperatures in the forecast. i'll show you how warm it's going

nbc 10 first alert meteorologist sheena parveen is here now with the forecast. hi, sheena. >> hey, vai, good morning. temperatures are warming up so feels like it's already maybe 4:00 in the afternoon. but these numbers will all keep ongoing up through the day. it's 72 in allentown right now, 71 philadelphia. also millville 71 wilmington and dover, we do expect to hit some record highs as we go through the afternoon again today. so the forecast in philadelphia low 80s, so we may very well make it into the low 80s. either way i think we are going to break that record of 76 degrees. and much of the area seeing temperatures mostly at about the upper 70s to around 80 degrees. some more record highs today. tonight though we get a bit of a change in the weather pattern. rain up to our north and west, that will move through. it's part of a cold front so then it will be cooling our temperatures tomorrow and into the weekend. few sprinkles around the lehigh valley. and what you saw outside in that live camera shot, well, those are some high thin clouds. still some filtere

let's get to meteorologist sheena parveen and that so much warmer weather. >> it will be warm today, yesterday it was in the afternoon. today we expect record high temperatures. here's a live look outside right now. it is mild but everything very quiet. we'll stay nice and dry as we go throughout the day. temperatures quickly warm as we go through the afternoon. temperatures around the mid to upper 70s for parts of the area. those will be record high temperatures. in philadelphia, 49 degrees, 42 allentown, 46 in reading, 45 in wilmington. this is very mild for this hour of the day. we expect to keep this in the forecast for the rest of this morning, so you'll probably need a very light jacket. 39 in millville, 53 in dover, 48 mildwood, 51 atlantic city. 51 degrees also in georgetown. these numbers will be climbing very quickly as we go through the late morning hours, especially by lunch time. expect to already be in the 60s by then, maybe even upper 60s. we'll take a look at the forecast for the afternoon, the record high temperatures and the warmup continues tomorrow afternoon, too.

let's get right to meteorologist sheena parveen, get an update on the misty morning out there. >> it's one of those mornings where you can't really have an umbrella but you need your wind shield wipers on. it is misty. we have low clouds around right now, in someç areas it appearso be fog. there is rain to our south in parts of virginia. still an early rain chance. it will be better this afternoon than it was yesterday afternoon. visibility, again, it's not too bad. around 2 1/2 miles, that's about one of the lowest points, some areas seeing two miles visibility. that's not dense fog. you will start notice when you start driving this morning. it is still misty and chilly this morning. this afternoon we'll be warmer. at least that will be good. by 9:00, that's our best chance for showers. i would say in between about 7:00 and 10:00 a.m. by 11:00 a.m., already around 50 degrees. we'll be warming more than we were yesterday. the best chance of showers is this morning, this afternoon will be drier. we'll take a closer look at the forecast an a warmup in the forecast and more rain chances
