is all because of an incident at the shell refinery in martinez. anne, what can you tell us? >> reporter: outside of the borders of the shell refinery and i can report there is no smell at all. officials said they ordered this out of an abundance of caution so there's no need to stay home unless you have extreme sensitivity with your respiratory system. here's a match of the affected areas. parts of martinez, pacheco south of 680 and north of pacheco boulevard. this is a level 2 advisory. a level 3 would trigger a "shelter in place." they are not giving specifics about what happened. around 2:30 a.m. there was a unit upset, some sort of mechanical malfunction in a hydrocarbon processing unit. and they say they are working to stabilize that unit at this hour. no injuries. they have been monitoring the air quality around the factory and so far they say that they have noticed no actual chemicals in the air outside of the boundaries of the shell refinery. and if there were any chemicals that were released, they won't given specifics on what they are but they would be chemicals as
