i'm shelley walcott, wmur news 9. jennifer: tonight there's a new director of the new hampshire state police. this afternoon captain christopher wagner was sworn in as colonel by governor hassan. wagner has been working for the state police for nearly 20 years starting as a trooper in 1995. he most recently served as a commander of the support services bureau of state police. wagner is from litchfield and graduated from u. with a criminal justice degree. josh: the political fallout continues tonight over that 2005 video in which donald trump was heard talking about groping women. today republican speaker of the house paul ryan told fellow house members he'll no longer campaign for trump. but amy coveno is live now with how some running for top offices in the granite state are sticking with trump. reporter: josh, senator ayotte is the only republican running for major office in new that 2005 video that surfaced friday. and today the republican nominee for governor, chris sununu, was targeted by new hampshire democrats

shelley walcott just spoke to state officials about the situation. shelley: the department of environmental services had tested the well water at the kingston fire department as a precaution and today they announced a surprising result. kingston, new hampshire fire department showed elevated concentrations of pfoa's. the town of kingston requested the department of environmental services test the well water because the town was making water from that well available to residents who needed water because of the current drought. two separate rounds of testing showed that the well contained 140 parts per trillion of pfoa as well as the presence of additional pfc's. >> the pfoa and the department are the, this wasn't an investigation that was initiated because of a sort of known contamination. d.e.s. working with the town of kingston went out and tested the well at the fire department because the town had offered it to residents that were being impacted by the drought. shelley: in the interim the department of environmental services says people in kingston

i'm shelley walcott. part of west main and church street in kingston also dealing with flooding. let's head right over to chief meteorologist mike haddad. mike: that rain very intense over the last several hours. clogged storm drains. some trouble. flash flood warning has been dropped as scheduled in the merrimack valley. no additional concerns, although there is flash flood warning in effect for another 45 minutes for those areas along the coast, back to portsmouth, exeter, and surrounding towns. take a look at doppler radar estimates in terms of rainfall. all of the yellows indicate up to three-plus inches of rain. the green indicate two inches plus. that is a lot of rain over a short period of time. you notice the heavy axis of coast, but notice how it is shutting off west of the merrimack valley. concord, merrimack, nashua done with the rain in the next hour. more big changes follow the weekend. all of that straight ahead. shelley: this rain created some pretty major issues across the city of manchester tonight. officials say the water has now receeded in most parts of the ci

live in merrimack, shelley walcott, wmur news 9. tom: right now a popular restaurant in nashua is closed after two customers and an employee were hurt this afternoon when part of the seal inside came crashing down. the investigation into what live there tonight. mike? reporter: tonight the restaurant is closed until further notice. two of the victims are women and one is a man, but it's unclear how badly they were hurt. just before 2:00 this afternoon nashua fire was calledded to the bertucci's restaurant on amherst street. firefighter say an 8 by the 12-foot decorative ceiling fixture called a cloud feature fell on the victims. two are and fire marshal's office are trying to figure out why this happened. firefighter say the seal piece is heavy and luckily no one was trapped underneath when it they got here. >> it's a decorative section of the ceiling that is right under the skylight, so it kind of like darkens the room a little bit. and it's called a cloud feature. whether or not the restaurant gets cited. mike cronin, wmur news 9.

good evening, i'm shelley walcott. the accident closed a portion of responded. wmur's jean mackin joins us live from the state police barracks in bedford with what we're learning at this hour. jean: state police are investigating what happened just after 6:30 tonight out on interstate 93 in manchester. it appears that several vehicles were involved in the crash on 93 south. it was just before the 293 split in heavy traffic. one car ended up in the median. state police on scene indicated did not survive the crash. while several ambulances were called to the scene, it is still unclear if others were hurt in the collision. first responders and investigators closed three left lanes of i-93 south. they were detouring the holiday traffic around the scene. at this hour, we don't know yet what led to the crash and the name of the person who died has not been released yet tonight. state police are investigating the fatal crash and will be jean mackin, wmur news 9. shelley: thanks for that update. tonight, five high school students who lost their lives when hit by a wrong
