you got the monsoon popping up over the sierra nevada. not only there today, all the way up in the shaft area. the cisco mountain range as well and well, we've got that fog that's been moving on along the coastline and how we get rid of it back to which they can for that big a difference in temperatures again today. much cooler coast side, but not much clearing their but some of those temperatures getting near 90 degrees. the warmest spots well inland. in fact, in the central valley over 100 and even about 113 degrees. all right. overnight tonight, we are expecting some low clouds and fog once again to ramp up throughout the night. expected to be a wet morning tomorrow. very damp along the coastline, maybe even some patchy drizzle inside the bay. but look at how far that cloud deck extends inland, not just into the bay. that's from goes all the way into the tri valley. live more. you can see that in the dublin conquered and all the way into the central valley tomorrow morning. as we take you through the day, only partially birds off befor

i went to show you the impacts on the sierra nevada. this is 7:00 this morning.posa and up through sonora, conditions are deteriorating. the smoke is moving through the afternoon. as it heads north over into reno, system offshore will continue to push the smoke away from senate -- from sacramento and into the mountains, impacting the foothills. no containment yet. we are watching that while our winds continue to bring good air quality. as you look at the yellow, the orange, definitely some bad air quality throughout the day today. this wind flow pattern continues to strengthen and stay pretty much the same old same old with strong winds right through the delta. sacramento is benefiting from some slightly cooler weather. oakland is -- it is 59 in palo alto. sun is up at 6:06. here is a look at that wind that will keep our air quality good. a little breezy and below average in san francisco as the wind is up to 20 miles per hour. continuing to bring temperatures in that comfort zone, 80's to maybe 90, but that trend will be for the stronger winds. that will bring t

we do have the monsoon over the sierra nevada, numerous thunderstorms look at the shasta area today. little more active, a little further north. even some thunderstorms just north of lake tahoe as well. california, though, looking at the have fog up toward the beaches. hey, you get a forecast for you if you are headed out to sfo in with the clouds, not bad. you're looking at no delays. the reported there, oakland or san jose have of the monterey bay. you're going that way tomorrow you'll find some fog in the morning plan on cool temperatures in the afternoon. highs generally in the 50's and the 60's southern california, some sunshine at some patchy fog. 72 in long beach, a hot 90 in pasadena. 82 degrees in los angeles, head up in the sierra nevada. those temperatures in the 90's, it's going to be hot in the high country tomorrow. texas has 104 degrees in reno. so if you plan on sticking around for the weekend and early next week, do clouds partly cloudy skies. slight chance of thunderstorms popping up over the mountains late in the day. cooling off a little bit on monday. >> all righ

some that monsoon again popping up over the sierra nevada. and you can see down below, though, the winds still a little breezy at times out of the west, out of the northwest in general, in around the fire. and then as we head toward the afternoon hours, of then things begin to calm down late in the evening. but overall, here's the latest on the smoke pattern right now. you can see some of that smoke at dispersed almost all around the state and even the bay area seeing some of that. but most of that, again is above 6,000 feet or so. so really down below, not affecting our equality much at all. all right. above you can thunderstorms again popping up across the sierra nevada. that monsoon really get going. but they have some flooding in vegas today and well, you can see the monsoon stretching all the way up in the shasta area, too. so that's going to be something we may have to contend with a little bit more as we get to sunday and monday. there's a slight chance we could see some thunderstorms rolling to the bay area watch a close over the week

fire danger up towards the sierra nevada.st. couple light sprinkles in solano county out the eastern contra costa county. not going to make a big difference in the long run smoke up in the sierra nevada. some of that settling on into the eastern part of the bay area, especially detecting that upper elevations of the east bay, is that still mostly sitting aloft right above the bay? but it is enough for another air quality advisory today. there's that low sitting to our west and sexually sparing us a lot of the heat that the pacific northwest is tapping into. but its interaction with the high pressure in monsoonal moisture drying into the region is resulting in those isolated thunderstorms, especially for the valley, the very eastern part of the bay area this morning. heat elsewhere in the country continues and especially for the pacific northwest. look at central washington, oregon pendleton in kennewick up well above 100 degrees both today and tomorrow. medford in reading up at 105 degrees, not just today, but leading into to

you see which way it's headed, attended due north right up across the sierra nevada.s parts of the park as well as the eu, 70 valley and then up in the sierra nevada, too. but the bay area so far, a kitchen little bit of a break. in fact, the smoke for that system, you can see all that smoke headed north right now and you see the brown and red there. that is the thick of smoke in forecast models. you watch as we take time getting more of the south westerly component of the wind and all of sudden that sends it really up for the tahoe area then almost directly eastward as we head throughout the night tonight and tomorrow morning. and i think that will be the case. we've got a trough of low pressure moving along the coastline and that will vastly effect the direction of that smoke. the same time at the surface here, we've got a sea breeze kicking in a westerly component that's bringing that nice, fresh air off the ocean water. so really, we're looking pretty good. and you've got some nice air quality for most of the bay area. one of the center's in mill valley start to s

watch out for a few thunderstorms popping up over the sierra nevada to back toward the coastline.ry about that overnight tonight as we get you out the door this evening, still warm temperatures in london. nice night to get out there and go for a little walk. if you can along the coastline and you can ground want to grab your jacket if you're headed out the door. those temperatures cool with the 50's out there. but here's where it gets interesting here. you've got the fog along the coastline. watch some of the moisture wrapping around the ridge of high pressure. the subtropical moisture coming up. that's a monsoon that rolls up across the sierra nevada from time to time occasionally through the bay area. i think tomorrow afternoon we might see a couple more pop-up thunderstorms. another impulse rolls in as we get in toward a friday. so that's going to be something watch out for in the coming days. sometimes that can go back up in the bay area, actually bring us some thunderstorms. of course, the greater threat as some fires temperatures around the bay area. tomorrow we're going 90'

as of right now, smoke and haze still centered over the sierra nevada. some of that is sitting aloft over the bay area and it should be staying there for the most part today, eastern portions of the bay area, especially or upper elevations. you may be sta texting a little smell that smoke as you're venturing outside of the spots. low pressure area right here is resulting in our cool down right along the coastline. so while we are seeing that heat across the pacific northwest as well as the central valley bay area and much of the central coast is dodging the most of it. and we should temple take full advantage of it. daytime highs today really only in the upper 80's at our warmest inland and a lot of sunshine along with those upper 80's. so not all that bad. we will see another push of fog tomorrow morning after today. monsoonal moisture really tapping out of that. so we're not going to see that potential of thunderstorms like we're currently in the midst of right now. as for current temperatures at 60's for san francisco 60's right along the coastline as

obviously in the sierra nevada's. per hour allowing for the good air quality. from 70, we have the yellow moderate. we have breezy winds dispersing the smoke. if you are hiking out, and visibility pretty good. you can see the haze in the distance. 62 union city. the milder conditions this morning with the cloud cover, it is soggy. the wet pavement from the north bay through san francisco. 58 with the fog at times anywhere from less than a mile to over a mile in pacifica. san francisco, that will brighten up. it will be gusty today. fog and drizzinsunny and gusty . partly cloudy at the shoreline. increasing clouds and humidity into sunday. that cloud cover coming up from the south with the chance of thunderstorms sunday and into monday. it looks like the chance is small. anytime we see lightning, i am concerned about the possibility of that creating a wildfire spark. here is the forecast today with the cloud cover from the southeast. we get sunshine inland. you notice those clouds at the coast. this is into your sunday

most of it has been confined to the sierra nevada. there is one little batch of moisture that is coming up in southern california. that's going to rotate a little bit closer. the bay area overnight tonight. that's why we're worried about the concern, the possibility some tonight overnight lows generally going to be in the 50's. i think as we head toward tomorrow. yeah, not a bad afternoon. it will be a little cool in the san francisco grab a light jacket if you head to the sunset about 59 63 degrees in downtown san francisco. 58 a little drizzle in the pacific. a 61 in half moon bay, 69 degrees in millbrae. 67 in burlingame about 74 in san carlos. 76 in mount view, those temperatures in the 80's in the south bay by tomorrow afternoon and the east bay, a couple clouds early on and then clearing after skies bit back in the 80's as we head toward the afternoon hours. hot 90's in brentwood in discovery bay about 6, 7 degrees in berkeley, about 78 degrees in benicia. so looking pretty toasty. those you get your way in a vacaville about 95.

some of that moisture beginning to come up repping over the sierra nevada. numerous lightning strikes there again today. and that's what we're watching for that sparks many fires that we see during the sierra during the summer months. and some of that's going start to work its way in our direction. nothing just yet. but late tonight, some of that moisture is going to head our way right now. we are seeing some of low clouds and fog again move back on shore. that sea breeze once again blowing. but well, i really interesting kind of setting up now. we've got low pressure just a week low off the coastline. you got high pressure to the east of us and those are acting kind of like the funnel. the moisture back up toward the bay area that coming overnight tonight into early tomorrow morning that i think moves out of town. you see on the models here. speaking of the fog and low clouds along the coastline right now, then watch what happens coming up on the south. all of a sudden you start to see there. it is some of that monsoonal moisture coming up into parts of the
