. >> this is not just going to be a dusting of snow in the sierra nevada. of course, we had a storm just a couple of days ago that brought a nice round of snow up there as much as 4 inches. me a lot more than that overnight tonight. so just beginning to move in the sierra nevada, you can see up towards susan bill. they're starting to see some snow there seem to be dragging south throughout the night tonight. so if you're planning to head up the high country, yeah, you've got to be gov and go up there. bring no change in our see the rain moving into grass valley and it won't be long. now the temperatures begin to drop off. and here we're going to be talking about snow all the way down to about 6,000 feet. so that's going to be a significant round of rain for us in an ice snow for the high country. but folks get stuck up there all the time and especially early in the season. they're not prepared for these kind of storms. but this is pretty good storm that's rolling on. and you'll see here in the forecast model overnight tonight, the clouds gathering in the mi

but i think it's going to be a good weather system the next 24 to 36 hours for the sierra nevada.e system, the main system already went through. that's where we got sort of the rain totals that were up to a quarter inch, half inch in the north bay, less for everybody else. that was the front front's gone through. and now we've got this unstable, cool air behind it that will stack up against the sierra nevada and drop some snow. that's the pattern right there. and this is classic pattern. this might be a little early for this pattern, but this low sits off here. and it's going to bring this front went through. so it's passed. now the unsettled weather comes through. and that's the cumulus clouds. the slight chance of a thunder shower for us a hit or miss shower tomorrow for us in the mountains. it should just be pretty consistent. kind of snowy on and off. and that'll add up over the advisories in effect in the mountains until friday. so that gives, you know, you got 36 hours or so to load some more snow onto the hills. this is the cold air. you can see it. just think. just think o

snow showers on the west slope of the sierra nevada. just kind of a day, but nice and then saturday looks pretty nice. and then sunday we get another system that comes in. you'll see that in the computer model. but you see the widely scattered showers. there's some right here just offshore getting ready to come in some on the west slope of the sierra nevada. here's the model showing the. it just shows all the cool air coming in there saturday saturday morning saturday afternoon clouds start to increase. and then this is for sunday. this is that part of the weekend where we might see a little shower or a little sprinkle. we'll see. that's sunday. that'd be the fourth day in seven out of seven that we had some shower activity. we'll see. but either way we haven't had a ton of rain. although san francisco had a quarter of an inch today. but we've had this consistent, persistent sort of low grade stuff clicking through to the north and kind of bringing showers and sprinkles, and that's a good sign. it just means that pretty soon one of them
