sonoma raceway is one of the premier stops on the nascar cup series circuit, sonoma is always a trip that the entire industry is looking forward to this weekend. the raceway is hosting the toyota save mart 350. this is one of only five road courses on the cup series circuit this season, but it's more than the track that makes this place special. we don't go anywhere that's like this in wine country and just how the hills are and how much elevation there is on the track. you really got to be on your game around here as a driver. it's definitely a track every single driver looks forward to and wants to win at, because it's one, it's wine country and two, i mean, it's just a really cool place to drive at. the race spans 90 laps on the two and a half mile, 12 turn road course. martin truex junior is a four time winner at sonoma, including taking last year's checkered flag. truex was one of a handful of drivers to test out the track in march, after the first full scale repave in more than 23 years. today, there were a few spinouts during practice, as drivers say the track now has more grip
