we're talking about most of the south bay. north of santa clara into the sunnyvale area between fair oaks and lawrence expressway, the two major roadways where that are cut off right now. it sounds like more evidence needs to be gathered and they may need sunlight. if that's the case, we're looking at a number of hours and possibly beyond that as they continue the investigation. it sounds like traffic is slowing down, forced off of the northbound side at lawrence expressway, off the southbound side coming into san jose at the north fair oaks. either way, you're going to want to make your way south to dwayne. you'll have to snake back and forth and make your way down to the larger roadway that connects those two lawrence expressway and north fair oaks. that's the alternate in either direction. the rest of the bay, everything else is moving smoothly. one part of sunnyvale, serious crash, serious situation. back to you. >> thank you. we will continue to bring you the latest as the investigation continues on air and online at nbcb

the bay area looking pretty quiet as of right now, if you are in the south bay, san jose to gilroy lookingd. once you head over take a pass, it's still wet as you drop into the valley. are bridges like the bay bridge golden gate richmond center fell in san mateo all looking nice and clear. now we are in the midst of a pretty unsettled pattern. this cut off low, which is really just broken off from the jet. that's white sitting here not being tugged with that general pattern is still hanging out mostly for southern california. so some of its energy has shifted southward, but we're still tapping into some residual moisture today, which will result in some pockets of isolated showers, most likely for the south bay and our inland areas. the closer you get to the coastline, generally the clear and drier skies will be now tonight into tomorrow morning. we're looking pretty consistently dry. tomorrow night, though, a resurgence of more shower activity your friday night leading into saturday morning, bringing some rain and some of the heaviest of it. conveniently time before you get up on saturday
