african american voters in key primary states, 4% compared to hillary clinton's support in south carolina. a critical state. to his credit, when you look at senator sanders record, he's been fighting for civil rights since the '60s. you know, just doing research on him, he led i think the first sit in at the university of chicago in order to desegregate campus housing. why isn't he with the record like that why isn't he doing better among african americans? >> well, you know, we are reaching out to the african american community. his record is not well-known in terms of his biography and in many cases the efforts that he has helped in the congress to fight for civil rights but we're working hard to get that message out. we're very proud that we have been enforced just this week by congressman keith ellison of minnesota who will help us bring our message of racial justice and economic justice to the african american community. i think you'll see improvements in the near future and while that may be the case in south carolina, i did see one poll in california where we were at 25% with african americans in that state. there may be differences from s

senator sanders. look at this without vice president biden. at the moment south carolina looks like a good fire wall state and the debate will be out of nevada, also early and important in the primary process again. if you run in any election, if you want to be at 50 or above. secretary clinton a strong number in our poll. sanders at 34. biden at 12. if the vice president stays on the sidelines, secretary clinton to 58%. strong in the later states. the question is would a setback in iowa or new hampshire affect the numbers? one last one, a new poll in virginia usually more of a general election battle ground but there 40% for secretary clinton and 23 p% for sanders a biden. if you look at it, iowa and new hampshire tough states. she does appear subject to change. sometimes things change and she does appear to have a later state fire wall. >> john, if she is or her campaign is studying these numbers and of course, somebody there is, if she is in herself, what are her big debate goals? >> in any debate you want to fortify strengths. look in south carolina alone among african americans in our poll in south carolina, secretary clinton gets 6 0% w

states. not in double digits, 9% in south carolina, 7% in nevada. jeb bush only at 6%. anna, you're a bush supporter and friendly with senator rubio. better than jeb bush's mentor in several of these states? >> you know, wolf, everybody other than trump and ben carson are in the single digits, and look, i have said from day one, you've heard me say it over and over again. i think the person with the most natural political skills in either side is marco rubio, he is a skilled, skilled politician, whether it's retail politics, in debates. i think debates made a difference. i think he has been impressive on the trail and in the debates. now he's got to show that he can raise the money. he has got to show that he can build out the team. it's things that he's got to concentrate on. i think jeb bush has focused a lot on that, on building out the teams on raising the money. he's got to prove that he can be a better retail politician. >> van, you've said many times marco rubio is a candidate that potentially scares you the most. is he the best candidate for the gop's establishment right now to rally around? >> listen, he is the most dangero
