but we start to see the effect maybe across south delaware, even at some of the shore point as early as later this evening, tonight, and then tomorrow, looks to be, the day where we really see the effect across the south jersey and delaware shore points. so that's why we do have tropical storm watch in effect it does include the entire coast of new jersey, back into delaware bay, and of course, though shore points down toward delaware, too, watching for the chance of some gusty winds, that could gust as high as maybe 50, six off miles an hour at times, so that could cast some beach errosion, catch for on shore flow, and that will allow for the potential of maybe coastal flooding. chance for heavy rain actually a little bit lower. so we go with moderate chance for that heavy rain, the highest winds will be at the shore. here inland, closer to fill, still could go with 20, 30- mile per hour wind gusts, but 40, 50, mile, main 60-mile per hour gusts at the shore. coastal flooding, moderate chance for that. the same for beach errosion. then we go with the moderate chance for power outage,

starting to see some of the effect across the delmarva, south delaware, then into tuesday, that's when we will feel the effect across south new jersey then maybe even here in philly as well. what are we talking about when talking about the impacts here across the beaches that we usually go to? well, talking about rough surf , already seen that, strong rip currents, already seen that. and we will get some on shore flow with the northwesterly wind, northeasterly wind, and get some possible beach errosion, coastal flooding could be a problem as well, areas that usually flood, have high chance to, and some rain showers will be possible as we get little further inland. overall, it looks like here is our tropical storm watch, gusty winds, could be as high as maybe 50, 06 miles an hour at times, and that goes into effect tomorrow. for today, we get up to high temperature of 08 degrees, little morning fog, some sunshine this afternoon, meisha, we do have the rain showers tomorrow. associated with jose. then we start out fall friday with a high of 80. >> well, that's some good news , the drive

jersey shore points but again still plenty of rough seas as you head further south through south jersey and into delawaret's head down even further south this is maria. it is still an extremely strong extremely powerful category four storm but it has changed a little bit since it made landfall at 6:00 15 this morning along southeastern puerto rico. the eye the of the storm not nearly as declined as it was at points this morning. it was over 35 miles wide. it was clear. you can see all the way down to the bottom of our satellite picture you can see the ground through it but again now it's a little bit more closed off and actually it's pick up speed as its weakened a little bit as it's traveled across puerto rico again still plenty of effects still very very strong storm so we are not out of the woods in puerto rico by any stretch of imagination. sitting at 140 miles an hour so as i said it's still category four storm it made landfall as category four storm this morning at 6:15 and we'll continue to see this work its way off to the north and west at first. so you see here by 8:00 o'clock in the evening tom

miles off the north carolina shore but atlantic city, the surf there is already stirring and south jersey and delawareshores are paying very close attention. josÉ is not expected to make landfall but that doesn't mean he won't cause dangerous currents and beach erosion. "action news" reporter john rawlins is live in rehoboth beach. nora muchanic is staked out in atlantic city but first meteorologist cecily tynan with the latest information on the storm. cecily what's the story. >> jim, hurricane jose is a category one hurricane. if you look at this latest loop, you can see that it's still about 250 miles off the coast of the carolinas so it's far enough off the coast that it's just really going to be brushing the delaware and jersey coast as it continues to move up to the north and it's lost some of its tropical characteristics. now, if you look at this graphic what you see in yellow these are the tropical storm force winds, sustained winds, they extend about 200 miles from the center of josÉ but josÉ is far enough out to sea that these sustained winds will not be reaching the coast. however, the wind

left of jose still spin nothing that cloud cover it has been more dreary by comparison across delaware, southersey but beautiful start to the afternoon up here in some of those spots like bethlehem that we just showed you. what you will notice when i show you win speed further inland, it is all normal wind flow but it is much lighter wind flow because as you get out to the shore you do still have some of, again is what left of jose trying to kick up that wind. it is not a windy day per se but you will net that is breeze, mostly at the shoreline which makes sense, right. here's is what left of the system. we will deal with, post tropical cyclone jose and hurricane marie a where is this one going to go? well, at the moment it is still a major hurricane, category three with sustained wind at 125 miles an hour moving sluggishly to the northwest. here's the most up to date track from the national hurricane center. it tries to turn a little bit back to the left as it moves north. but there is a trough that will be digging in. and that should shove this away. i don't think we have to be too concerne
