there are more than 3,000 oil wells scattered across south los angeles.of them are near homes. residents say these oil rigs are now making them sick. you can see it's circulating well south of los angeles. but eventually that, again, will bring us the chance here of some rain. so let's take you through the forecast over the next 72 hours. and tomorrow it will be all about this area of high pressure offshore. that will keep it hot and humid. it will mean 90s in lenon and 70s at the coastline. but then a drastic turn as we head into thursday's forecast. a system we highlighted will be moving in from the south to bring isolated showers. keep the humidity in place and may even produce the stray lightning strike. so we'll have to watch out for maybe more wildfires that could be sparked on thursday. then again, the great news is by saturday's forecast, it's looking more and more likely that will have the possibility of more showers to come our way and temperatures that will drop 10 to 15 degrees cooler. now, look, the storm is going to break up once it hits northern california, but i think we'll still management to squeeze out something. so let's get a look at those estimated totals. what you

very impressive looking, but it is beginning to wrap around some moisture here just to the south of los angeles. and once again, eventually producing some rainfall here right across the bay area. let's take you into this forecast. tomorrow, what we're going to see happen is that area of hot, high pressure that brought the upper 90s begins to weaken. the area of low pressure begins to sneak in from the south. so overall tomorrow, that will produce 5 to 10 degrees of cooling and keep the humidity in place. as we head throughout thursday's forecast, the system will make it here with isolated showers, possibly a few thunderstorms, and keep the humidity in place. and then as we have been talking about, a second chance of some showers coming our way by saturday. this storm system still looks to break apart before it gets here. but it will mean the possibility of some showers. both of these storms combined we're looking at .1 inch or less across the bay area. with these storms, it may have you thinking about el nino, of course. it's on everyone's mind. i want to get a look at the rankings of el nino.

los angeles. flash flooding thursday night triggered massive mudslides. on 85, california's main north south interstate. incredibly the los angeles fire department reports no serious injuries. southern californians are digging out after torrential rains caused flash floods and mudslides throughout region. quentin and his wife were stuck for four hours in a mountain because known as the grapevine. >> all we saw was a mountain of boulder and dirt and stuff coming right for us. it pretty much lifted my car up and spun us around like it was nothing. >> several main roads were closed down for hours on thursday including a 30 mile stretch of interstate 5, the state's busiest highways. one woman was forced to tread through mud after abandoning her cars. these images were posted on social media, as they called 911 and waited for help to arrive. friday, rescue workers spent hours helping injured and stranded motorists to safety. the road closures meant hundreds of big trucks were still stranded in traffic over a ten-mile stretch. and californians are being told to expect more heavy rain flash floods
