into this a tornado watch up still for much of the state, including the baltimore region down in south maryland will run through 9:00 unless it's canceled ahead of schedule that is always a possibility. but you see multiple tornado warnings in south central south virginia, well south of the washington d.c. area. so it's one of the reasons that we're continuing to watch a warm front set up that can potentially lead to rotating storms and briefs spinoffs of tornadoes. this is the cluster that triggered this weather. this cell is we cannenning some but -- weakening some. but still packing a lot of lightning here. you see the lightning strikes up along the washington d.c. beltway that is just ugly. but you see this storm overspreading the western part of washington and montgomery county. and we put a storm track on one of these cells, you see it's not rotating. but they're stale hailer -- still hailers. so hail to three quarter an inch. and the storm realititively low. -- relatively low. but it still bears watching. check out some of the current conditions out there. 70 degrees and winds southeast

south maryland did pick up a couple of showers like down in camp springs outside andrews air force base. a couple showers crossing out of montgomery county and moving towards savage, laurel, parts of howard county. you may get a brief shower in here in short order. you're getting light drizzle. these are spotty showers, no question about that. most of the state not seeing a thing yet. but there's more rain to the south. temperature 71 now at the airport but upper 60s across the state. 66 in ocean city. dulles 69 and york, pennsylvania, 69. and the humidity levels moderate but with the temperatures where they are, not that noticeable. but the increased moisture in the air will help fuel the rain tonight and we think more numerous showers will be inbound as we head into today. you see the widespread rain breaking out over the carolinas and virginia and atlanta. that will continue to slowly move north. if you look at the broad picture, this is a large storm. the upper reaches of this thing is in upper new york state. so by the time the whole ball of wax gets out of here, we could be talkin

some of this edged its way up into south maryland. and now the heavier rains are down south of news mineral and ashland and richland. you think the or given our earthquake a few months back. 71 in baltimore. but most spots in the state have fallen into the 60s. we're going to be quickly down to 60s this evening. humidity is moderate. but you don't really feel it at these air temperatures, you note that helps fuel the rain as it pushes up out of the south and more moisture in place and that will mean better chances for rain tonight and into the day tomorrow and the next couple of days. it's a large system. if you really look at the broad circulation, it reaches into upstate new york and up into cape hatteras and upshore a large circulation. not a tropical system. but the core is over columbia, south carolina. the whole ball of wax will slowly progress. the upper lows famous for upper movement and slowly progress north and east and will eventually clear by friday. but we look for increased chances for rain tonight, tomorrow, maybe some

boundary that is the warm front and the watch concerns are south of that boundary in through south maryland for isolated strong storms like that cluster that we have down in the fairfax area right now. humidity high. scattered showers and storms further south. there's a cluster in virginia beach right now. that will probably track into the lower eastern shore and again the overall pattern remaining very unsettled. that south wind still pushing up. but the main storm that we're watching now is not the one that was over the carolinas. it's drifted further out to sea. but the main storm and frontal boundary we're watching to the west. and that will come through for us tomorrow. then we clear things out tomorrow night. and it looks like we stay clear and breezy into saturday and we're looking offshore because now it appears there could be another disturbance hundreds miles off florida. chance of showers tomorrow, 72 and tomorrow night we should begin to clear out and it gets breezy tomorrow night into saturday. but ravens' sunday looks better. 69 with sunshine and that hold into monday. >>> her

down to the south in southern maryland, still dealing with drizzle there.where the real rain is. north of gaithersburg, back to freddic, seeing the heavy round. west virginia, you are seeing the heavier rain move into your area. here is loudoun county getting pummeled here just to the west of leesburg. we are going to continue to see the rain, a training influence here going over the same areas over and over. warrenton has been here for a half hour to hour. it's going to continue for you folks in warrenton. please, be on the lookout there. no lightning associated with this. go to the west to see the lightning. this, with a line that is forming back toward the west. it is moving our way. we are going to see another round of showers and storms, i believe. some are strong toward the carolinas. this storm had a tornado warning associated with it earlier. that boundary moves through our area overnight tonight around 11:00 or 12:00 tonight. we have more of this to go. for the record, on a wednesday, high temperature of 66 degrees. that's the current temperature.

higher elevations south of frostburg, maryland. look at the big, big rains down to the south. showers and thunderstorms, that line of showers now the leading edge all the way up to the virginia/north carolina border. the big rains down to the south. look at what's west of jacksonville. heavy rain and also just west of miami, florida even off to the west we've got more rain so it all comes through this area tomorrow. some of the first showers showing up around 4:00 or 5:00 a.m. but the bulk of that rain is going to be east of i-95. there is that area of low pressure moving through. so here is a look at the forecast for tomorrow. the low pressure system moves up. i think that we could see widespread rainfall totals of around 0.5. look at the high temperature for tomorrow. up to 69 degrees. so rain likely tomorrow. we'll hit a high of 65 degrees on thursday. once that secondary system moves out we're left with still some clouds on thursday and a whole lot of wind so it's going to be very chilly on thursday. high just 65 degrees. for friday right now it's 63. more sunshine coming
