take a look behind me you can see the police on the scene in 0 south philadelphia. police say this happened before 4:30 a.m. right south 21st and passyunk avenue. a family of at least five were inside. the child was downstairs we don't know how would the child is. he wakes up to the intruders inside the home. he is able to make a mad dash out of the back of the house, run down an alley away to a 7-eleven several blocks away, he called police. he hurt the bottom of his feet running to the gas station. police say nothing was taken from inside the home. i asked a sergeant if the intruders had any weapons. he said it he is not sure. you have to realize, the child sees the masked intruders shaken up and startled by this. may have seen something may not have seen something. i was able to talk to the parents. they did not know a whole lot of information they were shaken up and would not talk on camera. off camera they said they have to get to the hospital. they said they wake up an know their son is out of the house. there child has injuries to the bottom of his feet runnin

gray hall is live at the crime scene along south 21st street in south philadelphia, gray? >> reporter: matt this is an active scene and frighten situation something that should happen to no family inside their own home. state police on the scene. this is happening on the south 21st street in south philadelphia. this happened after 4:30 a.m. two masked men made their way into the home. if you're seeing the police truck, the home is across the police truck there. they break into this home, a child we're not sure how how old the child is, sleeping downstairs, when the individuals break in, the child makes a dash to an alley and calls police for help. the police get to the scene. the individuals are gone by that point. that child consult his feet. he had -- can you tell his feet. he had to go to the hospital. he is in the hospital right now. nothing was taken, so the child sleeping downstairs was able to scare off the intruders if you will. an initial report saying one of the suspects in this case had a weapon. i talked to a sergeant on the scene, he is not sure what the weapon
