and the city of tampa has closed down bayshore boulevard between platt because of street floodin. if you live in south tampa they're atelectasis -- we've sen kids kayaking in the streets and the crews have shut down some >> we have a look at what conditions are like now. >> residents in st. pete are caught between high tide and storm water. you can see how high the water is. still coming up pretty far on my legs. and take a look at this. the city already putting up barrels to lock off roads where the water is just getting too high. now, high tide hit around 3:00 this afternoon and likely will return around 3:00 a.m. in the morning. at the same time we could see more rain rolling through the area. city crews have been going places may not be passable as we head through the morning. some cars still taking their chances, but that creates a new set of problems for homeowners causing a wake to push-up towars their doors and that's saltwater coming into their homes. now i spoke to a few residents who say this is probably the worst they've seen the storm water in front of their houses n several years and rig

along parts of i-70 out to the west and down to the south where we've got pretty big slow downs and delay on c 470. we've got an accident near platt canyon road. pretty big slow downs. downs along santa fe in the northbound direction one lane at this point is blocked at iowa. so it's getting to that point of time where we've got quite a few things going on this morning. >> and folks are going to have to scramble to get around that closure. >>> for us it is foggy. we had some showers overnight that have left many areas damp. those storms are now up in nebraska. we'll have a bit of clearing before more thunderstorms return. so by lunchtime you get some sun. so if you're in direct sunlight it will be comfortable if you're in the shade it may feel chilly this afternoon. thunderstorms return for us this afternoon and this evening. the overnight rain generally gave us a 10th of an inch or less. during the afternoon we could see a quarter to half an inch of rain that's a nice downpour in a few areas. and when the clouds build back in we start dropping temperatures down late in the day. we'll see some mid-day clearing. thunderstorms start
