fairfax. our satellite and radar-of that mixture of sunshine and cloud cover. the clouds thicken as you drop to the south and southwest of washington. closer to the southern boundary, this is the same front that moved through here on sunday causing a severe storms. it stalled out down to the south. close enough to washington to have somewhat of an impact on our weather. that is where the showers are focused. north carolina. close to the frontal boundary. that would drift northward by friday and saturday. it will give us a better chance of showers and storms friday, saturday, and sunday. q is a work futurecast. today, dry, locally. later this afternoon and evening west of the blue ridge a few showers popping up. not going to be a washout. 89 is the high temperature today. that is exactly average for this time of year. highs through the end of the workweek anywhere from 85 to 90 degrees. i increase the cloud cover a little bit on friday with the front pushing northward. by the weekend, i think we will be in the 90's. we are not talking 100 degree heat again. warmer into the 90's. pretty typical for july. that is your forecast. back to lisa with the issue on

fairfax and prince george's county right near the bay, we're in the mid-80s. shenandoah valley out of the mountains are in the low 80s and upper 80s southern maryland and near 90 from fredericksburg to pax river. at the beaches right now and around the bay, near 90. now, we have this stalled frontal boundary right now to our north. but it is slowly showing a trend to sink south. may sink south of the mason/dixon line. when that happens, probably some storms popping up. right now along that front, heavy downpours in ohio and indiana and that is drifting south and east and will be moving right towards the metro area by later this afternoon and into this evening. and as we look here, all these areas in color. these are the zones with the potential downpour, some of these could produce quick inch or two inches of rain and may cause localized flooding, again. this afternoon into this evening and then settle down a bit after midnight. then during the day on friday, more showers and thundershowers with heavy downpours likely throughout much of the region and then as we get into saturday, though, it will settle down a lot, only a small chance of an additional shower o
