in the meantime we are still following some heavy traffic on 210 in southern maryland.head highway earlier crash forced a closure inbound and southbound at palmer road. traffic is moving but there are extensive northbound delays for those of you coming out of fort washington headed towards the beltway. you'll encounter that backup until traffic eases. metrobus some experiencing some delays in that area. if you normally take metrobus due to the fact that 210 was closed for so long you'll be a little slower there. outer loop crash looks like it just cleared. that was as you approach baltimore-washington parkway but we're still seeing at least the moderate delays back down the hour through route 50 there in maryland and as we go to our cameras we're still following a crash here. this is the inner loop in virginia. this is approaching route 50 it looks like more lanes of traffic are getting by and most of the activity has been pushed off to the right-most lane but still some delays back down to the springfield interchange. again, that's the inner loop in virginia. all right

now a newly issued severe thunderstorm warning across southern maryland. this is where we have it now. st. mary's county. we move to southern calvert county with a stronger cell. the good news, montgomery county, you are now out of the watch area. the storm system or the system in general, the cold front generally moves to the east. head in a little bit off toward the d.c. metro area. this is the heavy rain we saw right over the white house in to dupont and logan and woodly park. now moving to the berkland area and eventually up toward the college park area. heavy rain will eventually impact parent of the beltway. if it has not impacted the beltway across northeastern part of the quadrant. head to the t springfield. that is where we have another area of the heavier rain. talk about the temperatures now. what a cooldown. compared to what we had earlier in afternoon. temperatures dropped now to the mid-70's at reagan national airport. even better yet, the feels like temperatures in the middle 90's have now dropped by 20 to 25 degrees. it feels like 73 in lees
