southern new jersey and southern delaware rain showers on and off throughout the day and once you hiteland north that is where it's cold enough to support the snow showers and brief snow squalls in the area, you see the ribbon and pink along 422 east of reading and passing north of honey brook and heading towards pottstown and green lane montgomery county and it reduces visibility and quickly coats the ground and sidewalk surfaces or paved surfaces that are not treated. but once it passes by it melts right away. media and westchester are in the burst of snow and now lifting to the north and this is heading up i-95 toward felt and center city just a few flakes. and that extends down to woods town as well and starts to break apart as you work south of that area. if you look at the snowfall totals so far. only a half inch in philadelphia and most of the that is melted from this morning. parts of chester county, ac land 3 inches so far. and chester county some folks had to break out shovels there, and hockessin delaware a half inch, and winslow township a half inch of snow. it's above fre

and west of philadelphia, chester and montgomery county, most of delaware and southern new jersey, wepart the solid area of green as the steadier showers continue to lift away from the north. and not picking up much in the way of yellow colors but still wet roads and a slow go and miserable here in morning. things slowly improve into the evening and overnight hours. windchills though with the rain, it feels like 26 in allentown and 28 in reading and at freezing in philadelphia, and 40s down to the south and better in southern new jersey and this is a real raw type of rain, as we look at satellite and radar, low pressure is to the south and cold air in southern new england where they bump into the colder air, there you do, you see the break there in parts of virginia and west virginia and have you to head all the way down to east texas where the second low is developing. and it's spinning a lot of wind energy kind of wrapping around this low from the gulf of mexico and a lot of tornado watches and a moderate risk for severe weather, and large destructive tornadoes from the deep south a

the snow that is still falling through southeastern pennsylvania, far northern new york but much of southern parts of new jerseying with that mixing going on right now. only the shore is seeing plane old rain at this point but from millville to mays landing malaga to glassboro berlin, the new jersey turnpike south and west of woodbury, all this in blue and some of of it is heavy here is sleet and freezing rain along 322 and 40 so any surface that is not treated will turn icy before you change to rain but we're not seeing that rain line at this point. notice it is not moving all that much so you'll have a period of some of that icing going on and then as we lift to the north, you bump into the colder air that's still existing stacked through the atmosphere so it is still light snow lehigh valley, northern montgomery bucks county chester county but even here we will see that transition period and although the temperatures will be rising above freezing here this evening and overnight, that ground is so cold the last few days of that arctic air that it's going to take a little longer than seeing a temperature of 32
