. >>> well, the crisis raging on the southern border of texas, that state's governor rick perry decided very best place for him to be this weekend was iowa. upon his return to texas, he formally announced that he will send national guard troops to the mexican border. perry intends to send a few hundred national guard, possibly as many as 1,000, the governor admitted he does not know how the deployment will be paid for. the republican candidate to succeed perry as governor, texas attorney general, greg abbott bravely said, quote, texans are willing to put boots on the ground. but we expect washington to foot the bill. texas politicians of both parties have never been shy about expecting the federal government to foot the bill for their bright ideas. since the national guard does not have the authority to arrest anyone, it is not clear how they will keep themselves busy on the border. democratic texas state representative terry said a soldier standing there with a gun who cannot detain or arrest somebody, they might as well be carrying broom sticks. >>> up next, israel versus hamas, and t

morning a number of buses carrying undocumented immigrants are expected to arrive in southern california from texas. protesters have already gathered there already. they're promising to make it another explosive day. we do have video of protesters gathering last night in marietta about 456 minutes south of river side. now for the second time in this week, homeland security will try to deliver bus loads of undocumented families from central america to a holding facility there. the last time the buses were blocked by protesters demanding the people on board be deported immediately. the families are being moved from an overcrowded facility in texas. officials have not exactly said when the buses will arrive, but we will keep an eye on the situation there, bring you updates as soon as they're available. >>> and now let's turn to "today in the bay's" tracy potts who is live in washington, d.c., tracy, the president has been trying to speed up the deportation process, calm down tempers, where are we headed now? not exactly what you expect on independence day. >> reporter: no, and we're probably headed to
