we are very excited for all of our speakers today. i'm lucinda adams and. i'm the executive director of freedom's frontier national heritage area and. i bet some of you are wondering what is a national area? well, we are one of 62 federally recognized national heritage areas in the country and a national heritage really promotes tourism and understanding of the areas that are around freedom's frontier, focuses on three main themes. we focus on the enduring struggle for freedom, the settlement of the western frontier and, the border war and civil war. we cover 41 counties in kansas and missouri, and we provide a awareness for all of our three themes and do things like this we host symposiums and lectures, provide grants to our institutions. and one of our big things that we like to promote, we love to work with teachers, students. we have a robust grant education program. and so if any of you would like more information about freedom's frontier. we would love to speak with you today. i'd also like to thank the staff of freedom's frontier. and today have john

but the house republicans, the speaker at the moment is very much in line with donald trump on this. the speaker putting out a statement yesterday saying that president trump is positioning america to be safe and successful again. he called on them to stop the flow of illegal aliens and illicit drugs across the borders. he said quickly stop the madness. how long do you think the republicans will be in line with trump? even though this goes against fundamental gop orthodoxy? >> i mean, i think when republicans. >> go back home and they start hearing about how the cost of living is impacting them, it could be 2000, 4000, sort of average cost for an average family in the u.s., but i asked speaker johnson when we were in the florida gop retreat just a few days ago, and i said, there are. >> all of these. >> threats about tariffs. >> and. >> trade wars. what is your message if the cost of living goes up? because that is what republicans ran on the biden economy. we're going to take it down. so with republicans already vowing to be aggressive and on the offense trying to go into the midter
