news 4 at ten. sheila? today's sentencings ended the case that all started after the shooting of officer kevin mccormick. << investigators say levon, dean sr. took a call from his son jamal dean right after the shooting of sioux city police officer kevin mccormick in april of 2013. he then picked up his son and dropped him off at the home of his uncle steffen dean in sioux city. just 31 hours later, levon dean sr. appeared on ktiv urging his son to turn himself into authorities. here's what he said then: "i'm sorry with what went down. we want to say we're very sorry to his family." six days after the officer's shooting authorities caught up to jamal dean about 70 miles from the mexico border. levon dean, sr. finally came clean months later. in august of this year, he received three years of probation and ordered to serve 15 weekends in jail. the uncle steffen dean ended up with one year probation. others received sentences for their roles in taking jamal dean to south sioux city, winnebago, and back to the palmer house motel in sioux city. that's where jamal dean and his brother levon were actually accused of robbing a person of money and
