[ applause ] i told my children when father floyd told me. a long time ago, i said father floyd, what makes you be able to do this over and over -- year in and year out? that you never burn out? that you have a constant source of enthusiasm for administering to the needs of people in need? he said when i was growing up, my parents told me that god loved poor people in a very special way. and so that we all must love them in a very special way. and that was his motivation and i believe the motivation of many of us gathered here today. i know it is of where you are father? father from u.s. f? thank you for being here. i see so many of you in the audience who have been so magnificent in this and here we are. coming together in a partnership, in a

>> new details on the school shooting in st. louis. downtown st. louis. trace gallagher has breaking information. what's happening? >> reporter: as you said, this is the stevens institute of business and art. we have learned, our fox affiliate in st. louis reporting that two people have been shot. and one victim was found shot in a stairwell of this school, which is at least four stories tall. this is for all intents and purposes, a trade school. they have fashion, interior design, paralegal, hospitality. and the gunman apparently was up on the fourth floor and now there are reports the gunman has turned the gun on himself, shot himself in the chest and s.w.a.t. teams are inside the building. and they have cleared at least the first four floors of this school. it is hard to see with no live pictures how tall the building is. he was on the fourth floor. there were shots fired. one victim found in the stairwell. this was orientation day for the schooling, which is a trade school. there are reports coming out of our fox affiliate that the shooter, a self-inf

st. anthony's through the father alfred center, the drug and alcohol rehabilitation center and i was instilled with values and morals that i was separated from through my drug use. after coming to the father alfred center they put me to work in the dining center. i was not easy work, but gratifying and i got to hear the people actually say thank you for the work i was doing, but remember a short time before that i was on the streets, smoking crack. and now, today, i am able to come here and to give back to a foundation that gave so much to me. [ applause ] the clinic helped gave me medical and make sure everything was working okay and i was fit and in top shape. the tech lab got me acquainted with computers and email and google and facebook. and all of those things that we can't live without, right? social services got me back acquainted with getting my drivers' license back, because while i was on drugs i had lost my driver's license. and how many of you know that in california it's real

but 1961, laid service was planned at st. john's to recognize the tenants of abraham lincoln, the organist at st. john's found this in the archives and discussed it with church leaders at the time. they thought would be a good idea to have every president still living to sign it and every president that would follow them to sign it as well. so what we have inside this historic book are the signatures of herbert hoover, franklin roosevelt's, which was signed by his wife, harry truman, dwight eisenhower, john kennedy, richard nixon, gerald ford, to be carter, ronald reagan, george bush and so on. more recently, george w. bush and barack obama. the tradition has been maintained. at some point, when a new president is elected, st. john's makes an effort to contact that and have them sign this very historic book, which is a very dear item to the church. it does not sit in the president's piu anymore but it is one of those great pieces of history long associated with this church from 1856 to the present. one of the little-known fac

st. anthony's has a special place in my heart, because it represents the vision of my late husband, joseph koret. joe was born in poverty. he -- his wish was for no one to go hungry in his beloved san francisco community. joe would have been so proud to support this wonderful building that will provide so much care for so many people in our city. for me, st. anthony's also represents the three c's. care, community, and continuity. i bring you many congratulations from all of the members of the board of directors of the koret foundation and our very best wishes for continued sucrose in -- success in the future. thank you. and why the police have been notified. >> reporter: i'm here at st patrick-st vincent high school inallejo where the alledged hazing took place during football season this past fall. a spokesperson for the school says there were multiple incidents between members of the varsity and junior varsity pl inside the locker room during unsupervised practices. the school got wind of it after the head coach overheard a student complain of the alleged abuse in mid december. he in turn reported what he heard to school officials who put the entire coaching staff on paid leave and suspended the alleged perpertrators of the abuse. after they concluded their investigation they decided to expell five players.for alledgedly abusing and bullying six underclassmen.and then contacted the vallejo police. the school would not go into detail about what actually happened during the hazing. >> it was well beyond horseplay and it definitely crossed the line. >> reporter: the lieutant in charge of investigations for the department says they are waiting to hear from the kids involved before they launch an inves
