. >> reporter: tucked into sully woodlands park, this contraption is the latest contraption aimed atling deer ticks and the lyme disease they can spread. >> we want to kill ticks. we want to possibly reduce the immediate threat to humans. >> reporter: it's called a four poster deer feeding station. corn fills two troughs. special paint rollers are sprayed with pesticide and pink dye. any deer that comes to feed is both treated and marks so research can be conducted on the effectiveness of the stations. >> as they come in to eat the corn out of the trough, they have to tilt their head back just slightly and that'll make them rub up against the rollers. >> reporter: as part of a three-year study, 15 of the stations have been placed in sully woodlands. biologists on the project say residents should not be alarmed if they see deer with pink racing stripes. >> if they see pink wildlife of any variety that are attracted to the corn, they have been treated with the pesticide. >> reporter: wildlife biologists will be checking in at the four poster stations frequently. but they'll have the ex

you'll recall it was a bird strike that forced hero pilot chelsey sully as you will berger to crash on 2009. somehow captain sully brought the crippled plane down safely and everybody made it out alive and everybody was fine today as well. we may never know what happened to a pilot whose plane spiraled out of control for hours before crashing today. officials say the cessna was heading from louisiana to sarasota, florida when air traffic controllers lost contact with the pilot. radar images show the aircraft circling aim aimlessly over the gulf of mexico. no luck contacting that cessna and down it went. the fighter pilots escorted the plane's ice on the plane's windshield reported ice and officials say it there were no signs of life before it sank. a bit of a hickup today in the lash's department report on jobless claims. on the surface the news looks really good. 2,000 fewer people filed first claims for unemployment benefits last week. but that's only after the feds revised the previous week's number higher. that along with weak reports on housing and manufacturing wait on -- weighed
